Re: Fall Member Sessions and Comprehensive Review of Goalline & Stack Sports
Fall Member Sessions

On behalf of the Board and Staff we want to thank everyone who attended the Fall Member Session on Nov. 3 & 4 in Saskatoon.

You can find the slides & related resources from the sessions, below:
Goalline Evaluation

SSA's Strategic Plan directs a full review of member satisfaction with Goalline in fall 2018. Furthermore, with the concerns that have arisen from the sale of Goalline to Stack Sports/Goalline's movement out of Canada, we found it to be pertinent to engage the entire membership in a comprehensive review of our online platform's viability well into the future.

The ultimate goal is to ensure that we have a provincial online registration and soccer management platform in place that addresses both the needs of the membership and SSA, as well as meets Canada Soccer and FIFA requirements. As determined on Nov. 4th, here is an outline of the timelines and the components of the process we will undertake between now and fall 2019.
  • Launch of Engagement of Membership in a Full Review of Goalline November 4
    • With the support of the Membership, we had a productive discussion with Mark Egan of Stack Sports and officially launched the comprehensive review of Goalline and Stack Sports. During the session we confirmed support for the following next steps.

  • Survey Design
    • Criteria Development - over the next week we will be working on a comprehensive survey template and we invite your URGENT feedback if you would like to participate. The goal of the survey is to determine member satisfaction with current functionality, to record concerns, and to hear your recommended enhancements.
    • If you are interested in providing this feedback, please contact [email protected] for access to the Google Doc. file. Feedback is required by -> November 22
  • Survey Completion
    • Once criteria is finalized the Survey will go out to all Goalline users -> November 27
    • We will ask you to prioritize what's most important amongst all criteria and within each of the defined categories. This will be a comprehensive task but it is critical to defining our needs and articulating our current concerns. By undertaking this task we will understand more about what functionality is required and what is most important within the online registration & soccer management solution.
    • We will need all Survey Responses back from Membership by -> December 9
  • Formation of a Soccer Management System (SMS) working group to guide next steps ->Mid-November 2018.
    • The primary focus in the next few months is the resolution of issues and setting a new path with Stack. Through this process our goal is to address all concerns we have with the current Goalline service and functionality.
    • Expression of Interest - If you are interested in joining the SMS Working Group please complete the Expression of Interest Form. We are looking for 6-10 individuals, from Member Organizations small to large, rural and urban, to join this team. Individuals will be selected based on availability and experience as well as location in order to ensure the views of our diverse soccer community are represented.
    • SMS volunteers will meet with SSA online and undertake the initial review results of the survey on Dec. 18. They remain engaged, with additional meetings in the New Year and ultimately will contribute to the communication of findings to Stack by the end of January 2019
    • We will provide a full update to Membership at the Annual General Meeting -> March 23-24 2019, Regina
    • Over the summer months SMS will continue to monitor performance of Goalline, engage in ongoing discussions and research & explore options to inform our long term relationship with Goalline/Stack from -> April to August 2019
    • Our goal is to have a decision in place by fall 2019 to ensure that the have access to the best possible solution for online registration and soccer management for 2020 and beyond -> Fall 2019
Stack Pay

Recently Stack Sports mandated the use of Stack Pay as the only option for online payments, replacing PayPal. Originally it was announced that this transition must be completed by Nov. 15, 2018. SSA has worked with Stack and it has now been clarified that this transition is not required until
January 2019.

We have received many questions and concerns about this and we are working with Stack to organize a webinar specific to Stack Pay concerns.

Please submit any questions you would like answered by email to [email protected] by November 16th. This will allow us to address all your concerns with Stack representatives live in a webinar format in mid-November.
