City holds groundbreaking for new fire station
Demolition began in November to pave the way for the city's fourth fire station.

The new station, located on Kimball Bridge Road just west of Jones Bridge Road, will serve the center and northern portions of Johns Creek, reducing response times in that area.

Spring forward! Change alarm batteries March 8
Don't forget to set your clocks back one hour when Daylight Saving Time begins Sunday, March 8. It's also a great time to check your smoke alarm battery and carbon monoxide detector battery, as many need replacing every six months.

Check the manufacturer date of your smoke alarms while changing your batteries. It is recommended that you replace your smoke alarms every 10 years. You can find the manufacturer date on the bottom side of the detector, usually on a sticker, located near the battery compartment.

JCFD welcome new firefighters
The Johns Creek Fire Department recently welcomed six new firefighters. Please give a big welcome to Jody Poole, Chris Spruill, Jessica Vanegas, Mike Mackendree,  Paul Wessling, and Aaron Hull.
