VCS Weekly Newsletters and Updates
November 9, 2018
Dear VCS Families,

Many staff and parents are familiar with my vision for our school: “ A place where students are spiritually, intellectually, and physically equipped to fulfill their uniquely God-given mission.” Our school continues to grow towards that inspiring vision. Here are some updates:
“A place” - Our new security visitor booth was installed this week and will serve as a focal point for safety on our campus. If you missed it, check out the photo below. This Saturday, turf will be finished and installed on our EE playground. By the end of November, our MP will be completely repainted, including an updated logo. By the middle of December, our middle school boys’ and girls’ restrooms will be fully rehabbed, thanks to the financial generosity of many within our community.
“Spiritual, intellectual, and physical” - On Tuesday night, I personally witnessed the talents of our conservatory students, as they performed a variety of pieces, including Johan de Meij’s symphony, The Lord of the Rings .
During the same evening, I watched our girls’ volleyball team win and advance to the second round of the playoffs. On Thursday, our Lady Falcons then won again, advancing further in the playoffs and making history for our program.
On Saturday, our girls Cross Country team will compete in Sections in Sacramento, while three athletes from our boy’s team will also compete.
Later in November, you’ll see more information on the results of our parent survey, including plans to realize improvement opportunities, though our staff has already been active responding to your feedback. As an example, all event calendars (including athletics) have been converted to Google Calendar in response to a desire to see improved communication with school events. You can stay updated on any event changes by subscribing to the Google Calendar of your choice and then select “add” (see below). You can find all calendars on our website by clicking here .

Finally, thank you to all our service members, past and present. Let's also keep the communities, fire fighters and families that are being affected by the recent wildfires in our prayers. I pray everyone has a restful and safe three-day weekend.
