November 9, 2018
Hi all,
It's a brand-new day in Wisconsin! 8 years of teacher-bashing and public education budget-slashing will come to an end when our new Governor Tony Evers takes office in January.

We'll get collective bargaining back, the WERC will get funded and staffed to pre-2010 levels, and all of our lapsed members will join the union in force! We elected a new Governor and it's an easy, downhill ride from here on out!

You know I'm just kidding, right?

It is definitely true that we will be spared undeserved criticism from the top position in our State's government. And Tony will do everything in his power (assuming the legislature doesn't take away any of his power) to improve public education in Wisconsin, starting with a budget that supports adequate staffing, school safety, and improved special ed and mental health programs. But Tony faces political opposition in both the Senate and Assembly and he has a long row to hoe to get his progressive ideas passed and implemented.

What can we do to help?
Organize. It's in our power and we CAN do it.

--Peace
