Year-end Tax Planning Newsletter

Currently we're in the process of finalizing our year-end tax planning memo that we send to all of our 1040 clients. We'll include this newsletter along with:

An estimate reminder (if applicable)
A form for the client to select preferred way of receiving tax organizer
Information on our Client Portal and our Online Scheduler

Later this month, I'll e-mail you a copy of this newsletter which you can customize as you see fit. Premium members will received a customized version of the newsletter with your firm's name, address and logo.

January 2020 Mailing

It's time again to decide about our annual mailing. My firm plans to send out a similar letter to young healthcare professionals that we've been sending out since 1993.

We sent out a signup form to each MDTAXES CPA earlier this month.

A few CPAs have commented that the letter we send out each winter doesn't attract the right type client for their practice. Others have commented that they get a decent response from the mailing, but then most of these clients end up moving to a different part of the country within a few years.

While this mailing that we send out each year has helped me and my brother build our niche practice, I also understand that what has worked so well for us and for some of the other CPAs in the MDTAXES Network, has not met expectations for other members of our network.

For that reason, please take some time when deciding whether to participate in this year's mailing. Even if you decide not to participate in the mailing, you should continue to market yourself and your CPA firm by posting responses on the Message Board or by writing articles for the newsletter.

You will receive this signup form from my office very soon. Please complete and return that form to us if you haven't already done so. I plan to order the mailing lists in early December.

In my office, we consistently send out the same information to our clients at about the same time each year. We try to mix up what we send out between generic newsletters and customized memos, and what we send electronically versus what we send as a printed mailer. Here's our annual mailing schedule:

Jun - Dental practice overhead and productivity comparison
July - Mid-year tax projection letter and Mid-year tax newsletter
Aug - Estimated tax reminders for third quarter
Sep - Dental practice fee schedule analysis
Oct - Fall Newsletter for our 1040 clients
Nov - Annual client appreciation event for our dental practice clients
Dec - Year-end tax planning memo, and estimated tax reminders for the fourth quarter
Jan - Tax organizers, letters to prospective clients, invites to our annual presentation

As a member of our network, we'll provide you with many of these items as a Word document that you can customize as you see fit.
