CHIRP Begins a New Trimester
Laptop
Our amazing homeschool program, CHIRP (Community Homeschool Investigators of the River Park), is back for 2020-2021! With safety in mind, we have spent the summer adapting our program to take full advantage of the strengths and possibilities of online learning.

Our program focuses on individualized learning, with specific small-group times for students to share their findings, which they will be guided to complete individually between lessons. Students will also complete a capstone project on a subject of their choice, learning independence and time management along the way as they gain confidence by accomplishing their goals.

If you’d like to learn more, or join us when we start on September 14th, please click the link below!
The Valley Water & SVBC Great Sign Hunt
Join the Great Sign Hunt by taking a walk or hopping on your bike to find signs across Santa Clara County! The Santa Clara Valley Water District (Valley Water) has partnered with the Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition (SVBC) to create an outdoor “scavenger hunt” to help inventory these signs that may need maintenance or replacement. The hunt only lasts until midnight on October 15, so click the link below to learn more and don't miss out on the fun!
Volunteer Highlights July 2020
Our volunteers help make the GRPG great! THANK YOU for your hard work and dedication, even in the midst of a summer heatwave. The Master Gardeners of Santa Clara County continue their skilled weekly maintenance of our gardens. Our partners at South Bay Clean Creeks Coalition have also organized a weekly river clean-up, which routinely clears at least one thousand pounds of trash from the river banks.

We also continue to hold volunteer work days in the Heritage Rose Garden, on the Guadalupe River Park Trail, and the Rotary PlayGarden. If you would like to join us, please visit https://www.grpg.org/volunteer/ for hours and more information.

Help contain the spread of COVID-19 and keep our parks and trails open by maintaining social distancing outside your household while you enjoy the outdoors.
Stock Donations Welcome!
Did you know that you can donate appreciated stock and take a tax deduction for the fair market value of your gift? You avoid paying capital gains taxes, and we don’t pay taxes when we sell the donated stocks, so 100% of your gift goes to support our education, advocacy and stewardship efforts!
Mobility SJ San Fernando Street Survey
Make your voice heard and let Mobility SJ know what you think about potential improvements and changes to San Fernando Street. In 2018, San Fernando was redesigned with road paint and plastic posts to protect bicyclists and pedestrians. Since the success of this interim project, the city has been awarded funding to add permanent upgrades in a future project to be completed in the next 3-4 years.
