Diversity Festival
Liberty Public District is proud to be hosting the 3rd Annual Diversity Festival celebrating many of the cultures and diversities that make up our community.
  • Admission is FREE! Come join us on November 8th, 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., at Liberty North High School, for appetizers, music, exhibits and activities for all ages.
Safety 360
Liberty Public Schools is happy to host the
second annual SAFETY 360 Event on
Friday, November 16th, from 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
  • SAFETY 360 is a wellness fair for our students, embedded within their day, dedicated to promoting and learning about all aspects of safety and awareness in a student's life, including physical, emotional and situational safety. The event features speakers from our community combined with booths that students may peruse through, all with the idea of empowering our students.
  • In support of one of the non-profits that will be speaking to our students, we are hosting a PAPER GOODS DRIVE - and making it a competition between grade levels! Please have your student bring in any paper goods item (i.e. toilet paper, paper towels, etc.), and place it in the Main Lobby by the corresponding Grade Level sign no later than Wednesday, November 14th!

Incoming Freshman Night and
Academic & Activities Fair
  • Mark your calendars: The Counseling Department is hosting our annual Academic & Activities Fair on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
  • This event is held in conjunction with our Incoming Freshmen Night. The Fair is open to all grade levels and includes information on College Planning, AP Courses, Financing College, Class offerings and Club information!

1st Semester Finals
  • Finals will take place on December 19th, 20th and 21st
  • Wednesday, Dec. 19th, periods 2, 4 & 6
  • Thursday, Dec. 20th, periods 1 & 3
  • Friday, Dec. 21st, periods 5 & 7
  • School is scheduled until 3:15pm on both Wednesday and Thursday. Buses will run on their normal schedule, departing the school at approximately 3:15 p.m.
  • Friday is a 2-Hour Early Release, and buses will depart at 1:15 p.m.
  • If you anticipate your student's absence for any of the above dates, please be sure to have them fill out the Pre-Arranged Finals Absence Form

  • Every LHS graduate will receive seven (7) tickets. If a graduate would like to request up to three (3) additional tickets, please fill out the Request Extra Tickets form no later than March 11, 2019.

Liberty Area Chamber of Commerce presents
20 Under 20: Liberty's Next Generation of Innovators!
The Liberty Area Chamber of Commerce would like to recognize 20 individuals under the age of 20 that have made a positive impact in the Liberty area through exceptional entrepreneurship, leadership, innovation or creative vision.
Qualifications:
  • Live within the Liberty Public Schools boundary lines.
  • Be 20 or under on December 31, 2018.
  • Demonstrate leadership by organizing a business, non-profit, or community initiative that makes an impact on the greater community and serves as a positive example to other young people.
  • Must have clearly initiated business, non-profit or community endeavor or accomplishment.
Know someone who fits the bill?
Nominations will be accepted Wednesday, August 1st – Monday, December 31st, 2018.

Focused Note Taking
Teachers at LHS are placing an emphasis on focused note taking for several reasons.
Here are a few reasons why we are saying, Yes to taking notes:
  • Taking notes helps students retain the information!
  • Seeing the notes offers the opportunity to visual connections!
  • Keeping notes allows students to have points of reference when problem solving!
  • Organizing notes assists students in being organized and self-reliant!
LHS Library is Open Extended Hours!
LHS is excited to share a new opportunity available to LPS students:
 LIBRARY XL
  • Library XL will provide late library hours and programming that extends the learning experiences that happen during the school day.
  • When: most Wednesdays when school is in session (we will not be open Oct. 24th or Oct. 31st)

  • Where: Liberty High School Library (LMC)
  • Why: Students may need collaboration space, research help from one of the librarians on staff, or just want to participate in one of the evening's programs!
  • A+ Tutors are available! Come and study with a peer tutor.
Liberty Community Christmas Tree
The Liberty Community Christmas Tree program helps families in the Liberty area who need assistance with food and gifts during the holiday season.
Applications to receive assistance will be accepted
