One Book, One College Events Set to Begin
Each year, as part of One Book, One College, students, faculty, and staff read a common book and unite around community discussions and campus events. This year's One College, One Book is

Coffee with the Board of Trustees and Chancellor
The college community is invited to Coffee with the Board of Trustees and Chancellor at Fullerton College on Tuesday, Oct. 30, at 3 p.m. in Building 200, Rooms 224-228. The coffee is an informal and open discussion where guests may ask questions or just listen to the conversation. Chancellor Cheryl Marshall will also have an open office hour on Thursday, Nov. 8 at 10 a.m. in Building 100. Cypress College will host a coffee on Monday, Oct. 8 at 10 a.m. in the CC Complex 414 along with an open office hour on Monday, Oct. 8 at 10:30 a.m. in the Cypress President's Conference Room.

Fullerton College has partnered with UC Irvine Health to host a blood drive on Thursday, Oct. 4 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. A blood mobile unit will be set-up in Student Parking Lot 4, which is located adjacent to Building 1700.

Consul General of Belgium to Guest Lecture
The Fullerton College community is invited to attend a guest lecture and Q&A by the honorable Henri Vantieghem, the
Consul General of the Kingdom of Belgium on Oct. 24 from 1:20-2:45 p.m. in Building 1400, Room 1413.
Located on the crossroads of Western Europa, between France and Germany, Belgium was created as a sovereign modern state and a constitutional monarchy in 1830. Brussels, the capital city, has been the official seat of the European Commission, the Council of the European Union and the European Parliament since late 1990s. This presentation will explain the position of Belgium in international affairs and how it became home to the headquarters of the European Union's institutions.

Health and Wellness Symposium
Health Services will be hosting a Wellness Symposium on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. in Building 200, Room 224. Attendees will learn about ways to manage stress, the importance of self-care and nutrition tips for maintaining optimal weight and health. Refreshments will be served.

Flu Shots Available
Health Services will provide flu shots beginning Oct. 3. Flu shots are free for students and $20 for staff and faculty. A flu shot clinic will operate on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 2 - 4 p.m. at Health Services, Building 1200, Room 1204. No appointment necessary.
Save the Date! Transfer Awareness Week Starts October 15
Each fall and spring semester, the Transfer Center hosts a week of services to educate students about transfer opportunities and steps to transfer. Transfer Awareness Week runs Oct. 15 - 19. A college fair will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 17 on the quad.

CalFresh Specialist to Help Students Apply for State Assistance Program
Beginning this week, a CalFresh specialist, California's federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, will be available on Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the CARE/FYSI Office in Building 2000, Room 2002 to help students apply for the state program. Interested applicants are highly encouraged to make an appointment and bring required documents with them to their appointment. Programs Invited to CTE Showcase Day
Career and Technical Education is hosting CTE Showcase Day on Tuesday, Dec. 11 from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. CTE Showcase Day is an opportunity for high school students to learn and explore many CTE programs available at Fullerton College. Students will tour programs, engage in hands-on demonstrations and interact with faculty. All programs will provide three tour sessions with rotations. Each session will include a new group of 20-25 students for a total of 60-75 students per session. Programs interested in participating may apply

DSS Annual See's Candies Fundraiser
Once again the Disability Support Services office is partnering with the North Orange Continuing Education's DSS office to sell See's CandiesĀ®! This year's fundraiser will be held Oct. 1 - Nov. 2. FC's DSS office will use funds raised for scholarships for DSS students. Many of these scholarships were established by parents in remembrance of their son or daughter who had disabilities. The No. 1 Hornets (5-0) made 24 straight wins on Saturday, but it was not an easy task as the No. 3 Pirates of Ventura College (4-1) gave the champs a run for their money before falling in the last minutes of the game 33-28. Up Next: The Hornets (5-0) will head down to Palomar College for the season's first conference game on Saturday, Oct. 6 at 6 p.m.
Women's Volleyball
The Hornets are now riding a three-game losing streak after falling at Orange Coast College on Friday night in a close one 3-2. Up Next: Fullerton (6-4 overall, 1-3 OEC) will play at Santiago Canyon College on Wednesday, Oct. 3 at 6 p.m.

In an Orange Empire Conference match-up, Fullerton won big at home Friday beating Norco College 4-1. The win keeps FC in the conference race at 3-1-1 with an overall record of 6-2-1, while Norco remains win-less in conference with an overall record of 1-5-1. The No. 3 Hornets provided a nice 2-1 road-win on Friday against a scrappy Norco College squad on Friday. Fullerton is now in first place all alone in the Orange Empire Conference (5-0) and is now ranked No. 3 in the state and No. 18 in the nation with an overall record of 9-1. Up Next: The Hornets (9-1 overall, 5-0 OEC) play again on Monday, Oct. 1 at home against Imperial Valley College at 3 p.m.
Women's Water Polo
Fullerton went undefeated over the weekend at the Cuesta College tournament. On Saturday, FC avenged a loss from a couple of weeks ago against top-ranked Santa Barbara 10-8. Later that day, the Hornets handled Cuesta 16-9. On Sunday, Fullerton clinched the tournament title beating Long Beach 14-7 and Delta 11-5. Up Next: FC (13-2 overall, 2-1 OEC) will have a big conference matchup at Golden West College on Wednesday, Oct. 3 at 3 p.m.
Women's Golf
Fullerton's Eunsoo Jeon led the field at Arroyo Trabuco on Wednesday shooting a season-best 74. FC's Natalie Widjaja shadowed Jeon shooting a season-best 79 with Shelby Hahn shooting 99. Angela James shot a 95. Up Next: The Hornets will play El Prado for an OEC neutral competition on Monday, Oct. 1 at 11 a.m.

This show features the work of the Art Department faculty in a variety of styles and media, which reflects the richness of the department. Faculty work diligently to provide students with strong foundational skills, while also pushing students to strive for new and more advanced modes of expression. When powerful millionaire Victor Winslow, producer of a popular T.V. soap opera, invites members of the cast and crew to his mansion for a party, none dares refuse. Winslow informs his guests that he has assembled them to help him develop a new murder mystery game he invented called "13 Past Midnight." But the game becomes deadly when Victor is discovered stabbed in the neck with a dart, and Pete Griffin, a private investigator hired to act as a consultant, must try to trap the murderer before he or she can strike again.
