Greenwood Drive Re-Opened to Two-Way Traffic
Sea Pines CSA is pleased to announce that Greenwood Drive officially reopened to two-way traffic, as of 2:30 PM on Saturday, November 3.
Construction activities will continue along the roadway and some leisure trails within the phase one project zone into January of 2019. Sea Pines property owners, guest and visitors may experience temporary flagging operations, traffic cones and delineators placed along the roadway, crews and equipment working along the roadway and temporary lane closures during these remaining construction activities.
Remaining work to occur on the shoulder of the roadway/ leisure trails includes:
- Additional construction work
- Permanent line striping
- Raised roadway reflector installation
- Sign installation
- Stamping crosswalk connecting the leisure trail from Lot 3 to the Forest Preserve parking lot
- Additional roadside soil grading
- Turf and Irrigation installation
- Mulch and pine-straw application
- Landscaping
- Power washing at the gates
Continued Closures:
- All debris drop-offs that would be been made to the Debris Recycling Facility located in the Sea Pines Forest Preserve off of Greenwood Drive, will continue to occur at Lot 8 located at the corner of Greenwood Drive at Willow Oak Road West until further notice.
- The Forest Preserve Parking Lot located off of Greenwood Drive remains closed at this time to facilitate paving operations at the entrance of the lot. To access the Sea Pines Forest Preserve via car, please follow the directions below:
- From North Sea Pines Drive: Take North Sea Pines Drive to Lawton Road, continue onto Lawton Canal Road. From Lawton Canal Road turn right onto Fish Island Trail and then proceed into the Sea Pines Forest Preserve.
- Trolley Lots 1 and 2- located along Greenwood Drive are part of the continued active work zone and should be avoided.
