Events Canceled or Postpone Due
to COVID-19 Concerns

Due to concerns over the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and out of an abundance of caution, along with the recommendations coming from President Trump, Governor Newsom, and from the local and state level health departments, several Garces Memorial events have been canceled or postponed. Below you will find a list of events and more information. Some of the events that are canceled/postponed are events that are scheduled after we are expected to come back from the closure, however, due to the amount of planning that goes into them, it is necessary to make the call to cancel or postpone them at this time.
FFA 2020 Kern County Fair Exhibitor and Parent Meeting POSTPONED
Due to the school closure, the meeting for those interested in showing an animal at the 2020 Kern County Fair or entering an Ag Mechanics project scheduled for March 19th has been postponed. While the in-person meeting has been postponed, applications are still due by Thursday, March 19th. Below you will find the application links for incoming freshmen or transfer students and current Garces Memorial students. Applications must be emailed to Mrs. Rossi by noon on March 19th. Band Concert CANCELED
The band concert scheduled for March 26th is canceled.
47th annual Monsignor Leddy Golf Classic POSTPONED
The 47th Annual Monsignor Leddy Golf Classic scheduled for March 27th and 28th has been rescheduled due to Coronavirus concerns. The new dates are April 26th and 27th. For more information and to register, click here .

Retirement Party for Mr. Mark Brown POSTPONED
The retirement party scheduled on March 28th to celebrate Mr. Mark Brown’s retirement from Garces has been canceled and will be rescheduled for a later date. Once Garces is back on campus, we will work on securing a new date. We will celebrate Mr. Brown before he makes the move up to Sacramento, so stay tuned sports fans! After the new date is announced and you have already paid but are unable to attend, please let us know and we will refund you your money. Thank you for your understanding.
"His" Retreat CANCELED
The "His" portions of the His + Hers Catholic Teen Conferences that was scheduled for March 28th is canceled. We apologize for any inconveniences.

If your student registered and paid, please note your FACTS account will be credited for the refund due. If you prefer to have a check issued for the reimbursement, you must contact Laura Lee by March 20th at  llee@garces.org
Senior Parent Meeting POSTPONED
The senior parent meeting scheduled for March 30th has been postponed. If you want to purchase graduation announcements, please contact Jostens .
FFA Banquet POSTPONED
The FFA banquet schedule for April 1st has been postponed until further notice.
Freshmen Orientation POSTPONED
The freshmen orientation for the class of 2024 scheduled for April 2nd has been postponed. If you have any questions, please contact the Director of Admissions, Mr. Eric Coleman .
Remaining Winter Sports Banquets POSTPONED
All remaining Garces Memorial athletic end-of-season banquets for winter sports have been postponed until further notice. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

  • Boys Basketball Banquet -The boys basketball banquet will be postponed to a later date yet to be determined. Any questions, please contact Coach Brian Dignan at bdignan@garces.org.

  • Boys Soccer Banquet - The boys soccer banquet scheduled for March 25th has been postponed until further notice. Any question, please contact Coach Hassan Halevy at hhalevy@gmail.com.

  • Wrestling Banquet - The wrestling banquet will be postponed to a later date yet to be determined. Any questions, please contact Coach Robert Fowler at garceswrestling@gmail.com.
Company G Drama Rehearsals CANCELED
Rehearsals are canceled until classes on campus resume. The show is postponed until April or May. Drama club members need to continue to practice all songs, dialogue and choreography and have it memorized by March 30th.
