Durango Food Bank
Basic Needs social justice team is sponsoring a food drive for the Food Bank. Bring items to the service on Sunday November 11th. Most needed items: mac and cheese, pasta and sauce, pancake mix and syrup, baking mixes.

Piano moving help needed:
After the service at 11:00, Ron and Marilyn Garst need help from 3 strong folks to move the piano to center stage for the recital on November 16th. Thanks in advance.

Recital Series 2018-19
The next recital is Friday November 16th 7:00 pm in the Sanctuary and will feature the Four Corners Piano Quartet (violin, viola, cello and piano) in works from three centuries by Mozart, Turina and Mendelssohn. For information about the artists and to purchase tickets  PURCHASE TICKETS.

UU members are invited to visit Mancos United Methodist Church 
Saturday November 10th 3:00 pm to celebrate the Day of The Dead and 500 days for Rosa in Sanctuary. Rosa is creating an altar and you can contribute remembrances.

Supporting LGBTQ Community
Living the Rainbow: Stories of Coming Out & Transition  November 16th & 17th 7:00 pm Durango Arts Center. Performances by local artists telling their personal stories. UUFD is one of the sponsors.
 
Transgender Day of Remembrance
Save the date: Sunday November 18th 5:00 pm (corrected time) in Sanctuary. Community service of remembrance co-hosted by UUFD & 4STAR (4 Corners Support for Transgender people, Allies & Relatives).
 
Curious about paganism?  
CUUPS is giving a presentation on Wicca 101 on Thursday November 15th 6:30 pm in Bowman Hall. We look forward to seeing you there.

UUFD will be hosting Thanksgiving for all UU members, friends and families. 
We will gather in Bowman Hall on T hursday, November 22nd 3:00 pm. Come celebrate in gratitude for out bounty and many blessings. If you know of someone who will be alone that day, please invite them. As soon as we have an approximate head count, there will be a sign-up sheet for the various traditional and non-traditional food items so be thinking of what you are able to contribute to the feast. Share the Plate
The October collection for Real History of the Americas was $727, for a two-month total of $1,738. Thank you for honoring indigenous people by helping with education work in our community about their history.
 
Needham Elementary
Your generous donations of $1,211.75 to date are helping regular and special education students. Look at the poster at the SRJ table to see items we've funded! Next priority is flexible seating for students with behavioral needs.
 
HOLIDAY MARKET COLLECTION
Reduce. Reuse. Recycle. The annual Children's Holiday Market is accepting gently-used items. Children and youth shop for and wrap gifts for loved ones at no cost. Jewelry, housewares, tools, clothes, books accepted.

Calling all UUFD Artists and aspiring artists at any level or media.

THE BASIC NEEDS TEAM needs your help at the Manna Soup Kitchen. 
Volunteers needed to prepare & serve lunch on the 4th Tuesday &  4th Friday
of each month 9:00 am-12:30 pm. Also, volunteers are needed to pick up from Walmart on Tuesday 10:30 am & Friday 9:30 am at north and south City Markets to transport to Manna.  EMAIL MARILYN.
