William P. Faust Public Library is hosting a Family Movie Matinee  - on  Sunday, December 29, 2019 at 1:00 p.m.,  located at 6123 Central City Parkway in Meeting Rooms A and B.  Please join us for a FREE family movie, no registration required.The movie is Abominable.  This movie is rated PG.   Three teenagers must help a Yeti return to his family while avoiding a wealthy man and a zoologist who want it for their own needs.It runs approximately 90 minutes.  Light refreshments will be served.  Children under 8 must have an adult present.  Please call 734-326-6123 for more information.  

Jefferson Barns Learning Lab Norwayne Hackathon/Lan Party - Is the Holiday break too long?  Come join us at Jefferson Barns Community Vitality Center Learning Lab, located at 31250 Dorsey Road, on Monday, December 30, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.  This program gives students something to do during the break, from using the equipment in the learning lab,  playing in the gym or studying with teacher volunteers.  Lunch and dinner will be provided.  Please register at [email protected] 

City Offices will be closed in Observance of New Year Holiday - All City Offices will be closed on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 and Wednesday, January 1, 2020.  This includes the 18th District Court and The William P. Faust Library.  There will be no trash pick up on Wednesday, January 1, 2020 and collection will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week.

Christmas Tree Recycling -  Westland residents can drop off their Christmas trees at the Recycling Center at the DPS building located at 37137 Marquette during regular operating hours Monday - Saturday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.,  Wednesday, January 2 through Friday, January 18.   Trees should be free of decorations.  As part of the city's Mission Green Initiative, all trees received will be chipped and recycled for use at the City of Westland Community Garden and other locations.  You can also put your Christmas trees on the curb the day of your trash pick up  Monday, December 31 through Friday, January 11 , but trees taken to the curb will not be recycled.  For more information please call 734-728-1770.
 
Mike Modano Ice Arena Programming - The Mike Modano Ice Arena located at 6210 Wildwood, has plenty of fun in store for this winter including: Open Skate, Glow Skate, Timbits Hockey Program and Sticks and Pucks. Please call 734-729-4560 for more information.

Mistaken identities, overblown egos, double entendres, and a lap dog named Mr. Boodles round out this hilarious riot of a love note to the classic farces of the 30s and 40s.
