REFLECTIONS SUBMISSIONS DUE THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 15
For 50 years, National PTA’s
Reflections
program has helped students explore their own thoughts, feelings, and ideas; develop artistic literacy; increase confidence; and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful in school and in life. Each year, hundreds of thousands of students in Pre-K through Grade 12 create and submit original works of art in one or all of the available arts categories: dance choreography, film, literature, music, photography, and visual arts.
The 2018-19 theme is
Heroes Around Me
. All International submissions are
due by Thursday, Nov 15
. All forms and rules may be found

IT'S
STILL
NOT TOO LATE TO ORDER STUDENT PHOTOS
Parents, if your student had their picture taken on Picture Retake Day and you didn’t order photos but you now want to, it is not too late. LifeTouch has sent proofs for everyone who had their picture taken. We have not passed these out to students but will hang on to them until November 15. If you want your proofs, have your student stop by the main office. After the 15th, they will be destroyed.

NEW VENDING MACHINE TO HELP STUDENTS STAY FULL AND ENERGIZED!
International School has a new FRESH vending machine located in the 6th grade locker bay—a strategic location for early morning breakfast choices as students enter the middle doors first thing. Items such as fruit-yogurt breakfast parfaits, breakfast bars, and beverages will be available for purchase with cash or debit card.
The PTSA and administration have been working toward other food options since last year. The vending machine doesn’t cost any money to the school or PTSA, but purchases from the machine will keep it at the school.
(The vending machine pictured is the actual vending machine in its location—it looks a little sad sitting there empty, but it will be filled with delicious, healthy options soon!)

THINK BACK . . . WHAT QUESTIONS DID YOU HAVE WHEN APPLYING TO INTERNATIONAL?
The Office Would Like to Know!
The office is compiling a list of FAQs for parents of 5th grade students who are considering entering the lottery. We have our ideas of FAQs based on our experience and the phone calls we get in the office, but we wanted to touch base with our parents who have gone through this experience. What questions did you have when you were applying? Were there questions that you wished you had asked before you applied? Please share those with us.
Thank you!
