Number of games our boys and girls volleyball teams have lost so far this season. Lake Nona volleyball remains undefeated after beating Meadow Woods Monday evening in just two sets. Both teams have a record of 3-0. The last two home games are this week on Monday and Wednesday starting at 5:00 pm versus Renaissance Charter (Hunter's Creek) and Walker Middle School. Come support your Knights!

Once again, led by our amazing PTSA, the Lake Nona community stepped forward to help put on another special event for our Knights - Friday evening's 3rd Annual Halloween Dance & Haunted House. Everyone had a simply splendid time and I cannot thank our supporters enough.

This week is our first full school week of November and as part of it, we have two home volleyball games on the schedule. Our volleyball teams are having a terrific season so far and the players and coaches really appreciate the turnout in the stands during home games. Please come on out and cheer on your Knights!

As a reminder, next Saturday, November 10th we are offering tutoring again, so please take note if your student needs any extra help after reviewing their 1st quarter report card. This is a good opportunity and we are fortunate this year to be able to offer the extra help on a Saturday morning.

Make it a great week Knights!

Ashley Leca now has the fastest way to get to school  - a new bike. Ashley had two bikes stolen from her neighborhood and was forced to walk to school. Thanks to a kind LNMS supporter, Ashley was treated instead of tricked on Halloween day!

The event will be held on Wednesday, December 5, and we are asking that judges make themselves available from 5:30pm through 7:30pm. Please go to the link below to sign up to volunteer, and GO KNIGHTS!

Monday's Motivational Moment!
QUOTES OF THE WEEK

These quotes of the week for our Knights include thoughts on persistence, diversity, and accepting responsibility for failure.

On Adversity
There is no success without hardship.
Sophocles, poet

Boxing legend Muhammad Ali had something to say about  handling failure (pictured above after knocking down Sonny Liston).

On Bouncing Back
Only a man who knows what it is like to be defeated can reach down to the bottom of his soul and come up with the extra ounce of power it takes to win when the match is even.
Muhammad Ali, boxer

On Respect
If we cannot now end our differences, at least we can help make the world safer for diversity.
John F. Kennedy, 35th U.S. president

On Failure
Back of every mistaken venture and defeat is the laughter of wisdom, if you listen.
Carl Sandburg, poet

On Challenges
What man needs is not a tensionless state but rather the striving or struggle for some goal worthy of him.
Victor Frankl, psychiatrist

I hope this finds your Monday morning off to a positive start. Make it a great week and
good luck Knights today vs. Hunter's Creek!
