COVID-19 Updates
Today, Governor Pritzker announced that there are now 105 confirmed cases of COVID-19 across 15 counties in our State. Yesterday, Governor Pritzker also announced that he will be closing in person service at all restaurants and bars in the State of Illinois. This mandate begins at 9pm today and allows carryout and delivery options for those bars and restaurants.

Governor Pritzker has also put in a request to the federal government to expand eligibility of Medicaid so that those effected by COVID-19 can receive medical services and is seeking a moratorium on shut offs on utilities for non-payment from consumers. My office is working diligently with the administration to make sure we are keeping you all aware of any updates and changes.

Illinois Department of Employment Security
If you've been affected by COVID-19 at your workplace the Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES) has extended the guidelines to help those who are in need due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. To file or gather more information please go to the IDES website .

Election Day is tomorrow Tuesday, March 17
These are unprecedented times and a tough decision was made by our Governor to move forward with our election day as scheduled. We are working with the Chicago Board of Elections to ensure that polling places are clean and sanity. Chicago Public Schools Meal Pickup
Today was the last full day of classes for Chicago Public Schools (CPS). Tomorrow will be the first day all CPS will be closed due to COVID-19. To ensure our students are still receiving meals they would otherwise be receiving at school, schools will serve as food distribution sites for CPS students. Food pick-up will take place outside of school buildings and begins at every school on Tuesday, March 17 and is scheduled from 9 a.m.–1 p.m. Monday through Friday. CPS families can pick-up three days worth of meals at time, each with two meals per child. Report COVID-19 Price Gouging
If you or someone you know becomes aware of price gauging due to COVID-19 report it to Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul's office. You can find the form here .
Eviction Courts Closed
On Saturday, March 14 Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart's office announced that they will be suspending all evictions for the next 30 days due to COVID-19. The Cook County Evictions Court will be closed until April 16. Any individual facing an ilegal eviction should contact the police and seek legal assistance through Legal Aid Chicago .

Meals On Wheels is a service that is provided to senior citizens and for individuals with Disabilities. To sign up as a Senior Citizen please visit The Chicago Department of Family & Support Services , to get started online. To sign up as Individual with Disabilities please contact the Mayors Office for People with Disabilities or call them at 312-744-6673.
