Saskatchewan Libraries Conference: Registration Now Open!

The Saskatchewan Libraries Conference will be May 7-8 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel and Conference Center in Regina. The theme is Libraries: Building the Future, which reflects the significant contribution of libraries to the growth and development of Saskatchewan communities.

Registration for the Saskatchewan Libraries Conference is now open! The Early Bird deadline is April 8, 2020 and the Regular Rate deadline is April 24, 2020. Click here to view the registration form.

The conference includes a one-day  Indigenous Forum followed by a day of sessions on a wide range of topics including: Governance of Non-Profit Organizations, Accessibility, Customer Service, School Librarianship, Data Analysis and Intellectual Freedom.

Pre-Conference session is also offered in the afternoon of May 6 at the Dr. John Archer Library, University of Regina, 3737 Wascana Parkway, Regina. The theme for the Pre-Conference is equity, inclusion and empathy in libraries. The session will explore what happens when library values like freedom of expression come in conflict with other values such as inclusion and building community as has happened in libraries in a number of cities across the country. How do libraries and library staff support minority groups and help them see themselves represented in our libraries when they may see our professional norms or values coming in conflict with inclusion?
