Q & A about In-Person Worship:
|
|
Q: When will we have in-person worship service?
A: Sundays at 9am beginning August 16, 2020.
Q: Will services still be livestreamed online after people return to in-person worship?
A: YES! We will continue to video stream.
Q: Does everyone have to wear a mask for the duration of attendance?
A: Everyone over the age of 2, yes.
Q: What if I have a doctor's note to excuse a mask?
A: People who cannot wear masks due to medical necessity are encouraged to worship at home for your health and the health of others.
Q: May I wear a face shield instead of a mask?
A: Masks are required and face shields may not be used in lieu of masks.
Q: Will we be physically distanced in seating?
A: Yes; we will maintain 6 foot distance between households and/or individuals. "X marks the spot!" Sit where there are BLUE "x" marks.
Q: Will we celebrate Holy Communion?

Q: Will we have music?
A: Yes, we will have instrumental music and potentially a soloist.
Q: Can we sing?
A: Congregational and choral singing is currently suspended based on government health guidelines to preserve the health of everyone gathered. The congregation gathering in person may hum along as an alternative.
Q: Will we have fellowship hour after worship service?
A: in-person fellowship hours are suspended in the diocese for the time being.
Q: Will there be Sunday School for children?
A: Not in-person at this time. ZOOM Sunday School is in planning process.

Centering Prayer
A method of quiet meditation in which a single symbolic word is used as a sign of one's willingness to wait on God and be available to God's presence. This word is used as a point of focus. The discipline involves setting aside twenty minutes or so for quiet prayer. This apophatic method has been widely taught and practiced in the Episcopal Church since the early 1980s. Thomas Keating's Finding Grace at the Center (1978) encouraged the practice of centering prayer.

Are you needing assistance?
|
|
Through the generosity of our congregation, we are able to meet some basic needs for anyone facing critical hardship to purchase groceries, rent, electric, and medicine. When we offer such assistance, it is done in the form of a check or giftcard and bills are paid directly to vendors and landlords. If you are in need of assistance from the church, call the office and leave a message for Pastor Katlin. 808-935-5545
