Monroe Elementary
We will gather at Monroe Elementary on Thursday, November 15 to assist with their Game night at 5:00 p.m. Sign up in The Commons or by calling the office at 274-1534.

Hungarian Mission
“Stone Sale” & Christmas Card Fundraiser
Come to The Commons this Sunday and buy one or more stones for $10 each, to help restore the courtyard of our sister church in Hungary.

Also, Christmas cards created by a Hungarian artist will be available for $10 per package.

Thank you

  • To those who donated to our blood drive on Oct 31. We had 19 appointments with 14 registered to donate and a total of 9 units of blood collected, making a lifesaving impact in up to 39 hospital patients. The next blood drive at Westminster will be January 22 from 2:00 -6:00 p.m. -Life Serve Blood Center

  • Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped to make the Family Promise Host Week a success. Forty-nine individuals volunteered for a total of 231 hours. Volunteers set-up and took down beds, washed bedding, cooked and served meals, played games with kids and adults, slept over at the church, and enjoyed fellowship with the families. Thank you all who were super generous with sheets and comforters. - Westminster Church & Community Committee

Group Information
Westminster is a fairly large church with nearly 1100 members. Small groups help bring the church down to a manageable size. We have numerous groups that bring together folks with similar interests.

Book Club's next regular meeting is tonight, Wednesday, Nov. 7, at 6:30 p.m. in Simmerman Lounge. November's Book is “Lab Girl.”
Men's Group meets Wednesday evening at 6:15 p.m. in the Seminary Center. Their next first-Wednesday-of-the-month breakfast meeting is at 6:30 a.m. on December 5.
Restaurant Group 2 meets the third Saturday of the month. Their next gathering will be at Nick's Grill, 9769 University Ave in Clive, Saturday, November 17, at 5:00 p.m.
The Gay-Lesbian-Straight Affirmation Group will now meet on the second Sunday of each month at 10:30 a.m. Their next meeting will be November 11.
Pizza Lovers' Group meets the second Tuesday of the month.
Their next meeting is November 13, at 5:15 p.m., at Godfather's on University in Des Moines.
Afternoon Bridge will meet Friday, November 30, at 1:00 p.m. in Simmerman Lounge. R.S.V.P. to 274-1534 if you'd like to join in!
Restaurant Group 1 meets the first Saturday of the month. Their next gathering will be at Chef's Kitchen, 1903 Beaver Ave in Des Moines, on Saturday, November 3, at 5:00 p.m .
Stitchin’ Time will not meet in November, because of the Thanksgiving holiday.
Men’s Basketball meets every Monday at 6:30 p.m. in The Commons.
