Clarifications for Faith Based and Entertainment Community

RE: Health Order Limiting 100+ Gatherings

_____________________________________________________

In an effort to provide clarity to your communities regarding the Health Order issued last Friday, I confirmed with the Health Officer (Dr. Aragon) the following information (as it relates to your relevant communities) is accurate. Also, this Health Order is intended to be strong recommendations (and therefore not enforceable by law).  I will include this information in the daily COVID-19 Updates I to our community partners, which will include the Entertainment Commission's distribution list. Please let me know if you would like me to include any additional distribution lists. Thank you!
  • For bars, music venues, nightclubs and theaters:
only establishments with a max capacity of 100 should conduct business. Establishments with capacity of 100 or more should not conduct business.
  • For places of worship: Places of worship are exempt from this health order; however, it is strongly encouraged any services
or gatherings should be limited to 100 people.
  • *For restaurants and cafes with 100 max capacity:  establishments with max capacity of 100 should only serve up to 100 patrons.
  • *For restaurants and cafes with 100-500 max capacity:  Solely for restaurants and cafes that have a maximum occupant load between 100 and 500 people should do so by operating at 50 percent of their maximum occupant load up to a maximum of 100 patrons. For example, if a room had a maximum occupant load of 150, under this Order it would be permitted to have a gathering of up to 75 people, and if a room had a maximum occupant load of 350, under this Order it would be permitted
to have a gathering of up to 100 people.
  • *Restaurants and cafes or other establishments that have a maximum occupant load of 100 or more people may still sell or provide food on a pick-up or takeout basis so long as   no more than 100   patrons are not eating on-premises.
  • For other social gathering spaces:
any building where the space or venue has a maximum occupant load of 100 or more people should serve no more than 100 patrons.
