Volunteers Make an Impact at Sunflower Hill Gardens
|
Sunflower Hill Gardens Volunteer, Pam Eckert
Pam Eckert, Master Gardner and Gourd Guru has been volunteering at the Sunflower Hill Gardens since 2015! Pam volunteers her time and gardening expertise with our program participants as well as during our seasonal and special events in the garden. Pam also enjoys creating our harvest basket masterpieces (pictured) that we offer to local non-profits for their fundraisers. As our resident "Gourd Guru", Pam lends her knowledge on drying and preparing the gourds that are grown in the garden for planters and other uses. As a Master Gardner, Pam says that it's "gratifying to know that the abundance of organic produce that is grown at Sunflower Hill Gardens is donated to those in need." Thank you, Pam, for your talent and dedication! If you're interested in volunteering or learning more about our volunteering opportunities in the garden, contact us.
Youth Volunteers Help with Fall & Winter Gardening!
Fall and Winter are busy times for garden clean-up and maintenance and we greatly appreciate all the support! A big thank you goes out to the group of
National Honor Society
students from
Livermore High School
who joined us in
the garden last month for a day of volunteering! They harvested produce to be donated to
Culinary Angels
, transplanted herbs, and weeded!
We were also thrilled to host
several hard-working volunteers from the
Young Men's Service League
who weeded an entire planting block - no small task!
