First Reconciliation (children preparing for First Communion)
First Reconciliation will be celebrated on Thursday, November 15th promptly at 6:30 p.m. in the Church. We ask that only the First Reconciliation child attend with his or her parents.
Be sure to bring some spiritual reading for your child and yourself to fill the time while you are waiting for individual confessions.
Please review the We Believe & Celebrate First Penance book with your child to prepare him or her for this sacrament. The completed books should be brought in for review by your child's catechist the week of November 12th/13th.

Grade 7
Seventh grade students and parents will meet on Sunday, November 11th for a meeting and workshop. There will be an explanation of the components of the St. Paul Confirmation Program, what is required of the candidates, and an opportunity for questions and answers. Each candidate will also be presented with his/her own personal copy of The Catholic Teen Bible. These bibles will be blessed during the presentation and are for the students to keep and use during Confirmation preparation and in the years that follow. Check-in for this event begins at 4:00 p.m. in the St. Paul Gymnasium. The Mass of Acceptance will follow the workshop at 6:00 p.m. in the church.

F ood Drive for Thanksgiving
The food drive is underway and so far the pantry is pretty bare.
If you have not already sent in food, please help! The parishes who have asked for our assistance are really depending on us. Donations may be placed on the tables located outside of the school office.   Life Threatening Allergies
Because there are children in our program as well as children in the school who have deadly allergies to nuts - especially peanuts - we remind you to never send anything with nuts as a snack for your child or his/her class. If your children eat anything with peanut butter or nuts right before class, please make sure that they wash their hands before coming into the school. We had a couple of "scares" around Halloween because of all the peanut candy making its way around the school. A child who suffers from these allergies can even be sickened by contact with a wrapper from a product that contains nuts. Please be very aware of this so that we keep all of our children safe and healthy!

Safety After Class Is Over
We have a volunteer crossing guard on duty at the end of class and a staff person in the playground area to help with safety after your children are dismissed. Please help us to keep your children safe by picking them up promptly and instructing them to not leave the playground until you arrive. We will close the playground area and take any children who have not been picked up back to the RE office 10 minutes after classes are dismissed. At that point, you must come to the RE. office to pick up your child. As a reminder, there is no parking or standing allowed next to the orange cones.  Please remind your children that they must exit through the gym doors. We are always in need of volunteers to assist with crossing.  If you are available 10 minutes before and 10 minutes after classes are released, please consider signing up to help out. For more information, please contact the RE Office at 885-7022.

Thanksgiving thoughts . . .

Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire. If you did, what would there be to look forward to?

Be thankful when you don't know something, for it gives you the opportunity to learn.

Be thankful for difficult times, because they give you opportunities for improvement.

Be thankful for your mistakes. They will teach you valuable lessons.

Be thankful when you're tired and weary, because it means you made a difference.

It's easy to be thankful for the good things. A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are also thankful for setbacks. Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive. Find a way to be thankful for your troubles, and they become your blessings.

Unleash the Gospel, Why are we doing this?

We believe God is calling us to a great mission, to Unleash the Gospel in Southeast Michigan and beyond. We believe that in order for people to join this movement, they first need to know what the movement is about and be able to identify their unique role in this mission.
