Greetings Friends and Fellow Art Lovers,

Here's the report in a nut shell.

I am delighted to report that $1107.50 was raised for My Sisters Place! Thank you to everyone who participated in the Silent Auction.

21 paintings found new homes!

It was a great day. Thanks to all who came out, and a big thank you to my wonderful volunteers:

Fiona S. - transport of paintings and greeting
Katie M. and Philippa J. - payment transactions
Sally K. - refreshments
Clair S. and Sandy H. - greeting
You six were truly fabulous.

Each year I ask people to choose their 3 favourite paintings.

Here are the results from that voting:

The # 1 favourite painting is:

Unexpected Joy - Acrylic - $925 + HST
Currently available from the artist

The #2 and #3 favourite paintings were only separated by 1 vote.
Essentially, that's a tie. Here they are:

Exuberance - Acrylic - $1125. + HST
Currently available from the artist.

Bowl of Cherries - Oil - framed - $325. + HST
Currently available from the artist.

Let me know if you are interested in purchasing any of these.
If you are currently in class, ask me about a special just for my students.

It's always of interest to me as an artist to analyse the voting for favourites. The 3 favourites this year were: an abstract, an abstracted floral, and a realistic still life. Hm. No particular trend there in either subject or style. And another fact is, almost every painting got at least one or two votes. I guess it means, just keep on painting. My styles and subjects are very diverse, but apparently your tastes are also!

The painting demonstrations were enthusiastically attended.
Here you can see the black canvas that I used white chalk on
to enlarge the flowers from my photo reference.

Below is a photo to show how far along the painting was after 2 hours of demonstrating. Lots more to do!  One of these days the finished painting will land in your inbox. No promises for exactly when - I have some commissioned work to do next.

We talked about painting.

It was great to see friends from far and near.

2 of the beautiful volunteers -
Philippa and Katie.

It was wonderful to be able to share my art plus support a good cause. Thanks to everyone for joining in and for cheering me on.

You are each a masterpiece.

Happy Painting!

Cheryl O
