Distribution of Materials and 2019-2020 Yearbooks UPDATE

Attention ALL students and families of sophomores, juniors and seniors – On Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2020, Hinsdale Central High School will host a drive thru event for ALL students to pick up their: Student planners, current student ID’s, lanyard, HCHS mask, class t-shirts that were ordered AND 2019-2020 yearbook if one was purchased last year. All freshmen and newly enrolled students received these items during freshmen and New Student Orientation with the exception of anyone who purchased a class t-shirt. 

Please enter the front circle drive off of 55th street and proceed through the checkpoints and continue down Grant Street to the main gym entrance to receive your yearbook and/or class t-shirt. It would be helpful to us if you brought a piece of paper or card with your name and graduation year on it.  The drive thru will be open from 8:30 AM – 3 PM. If you cannot attend on the 26th, you can come to the greeter’s desk at the main entrance starting at 8AM on Thursday, Aug. 27. 
Clubs and Activities Fair

Typically all students would attend an in person clubs and activities fair during their PE classes on Monday, Aug. 24th. This year we will be doing something different. We are hosting a virtual Activities fair over the course of 2 weeks starting Monday, Aug. 24 – Sept. 3 from 3:15-5:25 each night. Each active club will host a 10 min information session with the sponsor and a senior leader throughout these 2 weeks to provide information about what the club is about and how to join. Please check this schedule for links to meetings for specific club sessions. Prior to attending the virtual fair, check out these introduction videos to learn more about all the clubs that Hinsdale Central has to offer! Financial Aid Information Session

The Counseling Office is excited to sponsor a Financial Aid presentation from the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) on Thursday, August 27th at 6:30 PM. Senior families are encouraged to attend to learn about completing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and the different types of financial assistance available for their student’s post-secondary education. Non-senior families who are interested in learning more about the financial aid process to begin planning for their student’s post-secondary plans are also welcome to attend. With the passage of H.B. 2719 beginning with the 20-21 school year, FAFSA completion or a completed FAFSA Nonparticipation Form is required of all Illinois seniors for high school graduation.
NHS Induction

The 2020-2021 NHS Induction Ceremony will be held virtually on Thursday, Aug. 27th at 7pm. Students who are being inducted will receive an email invite from Mrs. Tosh and/or Ms. Bauer prior to the event with credentials to view the ceremony.  
Class of 2024 Freshman Parent Night

This year we will be offering our Freshman Parent Night prior to Curriculum Night on Thursday, September 3, 2020 from 6:00 – 6:45 PM. This will provide parents the opportunity to meet with their student’s counselor to learn more about the programs and goals during the next four years as we partner for success with your student. Each counselor will email their families a link to their meeting prior to the event. We look forward to welcoming you to this event.
Seniors College Application Information

Counselors will begin sending transcripts to colleges after Sept. 1. Seniors will need to schedule an appointment with their counselor to review their requests. Please remember that all transcript request forms should be submitted 3 weeks prior to the college application deadline to allow for processing.

Student Chromebooks Pickup

Newly registered students that did not pick up their Chromebooks, student IDs and the other materials this past week during the Freshman and New Student Experience or the alternative pickup times, can come anytime this week from 8 am - 3 pm. Please proceed through Door #1, the Main Entrance, and check in at the greeters desk.

With the school year upon us, please take a moment to charge, power on, and login to your student Chromebook. If you experience any issues, please contact the Hinsdale Central Tech Help Desk at helpdesk@hinsdale86.org or call 630-655-6180. When we are back in the building you can always stop in our Technology Support Internship Room for tech help.
Technology Help Desk

Students having difficulty with technology, should contact the Hinsdale Central Tech Help Desk at helpdesk@hinsdale86.org or call 630-655-6180. The IT staff can help students reset passwords or repair Chromebooks as well as many other tech issues. 
VIP School Picture Information

School Pictures were originally scheduled for ALL students the week of Sept. 8-11.  We are currently in communication with VIP about school portraits and will be updating you soon with dates and locations. Seniors will be contacted by VIP to schedule individual portrait times in October.
