As we approach the one-year anniversary of the wildfires, we invite you to surround yourself with artistic expression focused on community well-being and connections. This all-ages event will feature art activities, musical performances, guided hikes, and food. Free. Reflect on the past year while witnessing the recovering landscape of  Shiloh Ranch Regional Park .

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

On Sunday, October 7 th , the Catholic Diocese of Santa Rosa and a multitude of Christian churches in the Santa Rosa area, are hosting a prayer event at Cardinal Newman field. This event,  Together in Hope,  will take place from 2:00 to 3:30pm and will commemorate the North Bay fires of last year. The gathering will include members of our community and local churches, as well as first responders and survivors. The event will celebrate the virtue of Hope in the midst of suffering and the promise of resurrection. 

Catholic Charities is looking for volunteers to support this community event and we need your help to make it happen !

County to Observe One Year Anniversary of Wildfires October 8th
County, City to Observe One Year Anniversary of Wildfires

SANTA ROSA, CA  – The County of Sonoma and City of Santa Rosa will hold a ceremony on October 8, 2018 in observance of the one year anniversary of the Sonoma Complex fires. The ceremony will include a memorial bell ringing to remember those who lost their lives in the fires and provide an opportunity for community grieving, healing and reflection through public chalk art expression. The chalk art will continue on October 9th.

The community is invited to the ceremony which will be held in downtown Santa Rosa at Courthouse Square. Schedule is as follows:

Bilingual Volunteers Needed
Rebuilding Our Community Sonoma County (ROC) has set up a Resource Center for Fire Survivor Families. The center needs bilingual volunteers to help with Case Management Intake, front desk, and translate forms. Training will be provided. Shifts are available Monday through Friday, 4-10 hours per week. A 6 month commitment is necessary, as well as a simple background check.

Sonoma County Encourages People to Register to Vote

Now it’s easier than ever to apply to vote in California with the online application  RegisterToVote.ca.gov . It was first observed in 2012 and has been growing in popularity every year since. Californian's have used it to register to vote or to update their voter registration record. Educating Voters: Millions of voters need to register and re-register every year. By utilizing new technology and leveraging partners, we’ll educate Americans in all 50 states about how to register, sign up for election reminders, check their registration online, get mail ballots, learn about early voting and more.
  
To be eligible to register to vote, one must be a U.S. Citizen, 18 years old on or before Election Day, and not in prison or on parole for the conviction of a felony. Voters, who have moved, wish to change political party affiliation, or who have changed their names should re-register. Voters should notify our office when their mailing address has changed. The last day to register to vote in the upcoming November 6 th  Consolidated General Election is October 22, 2018.

Position Summary: The role of the Behavioral Intervention Specialist is to help design, implement and monitor behavioral plans for students that are based on thorough assessments and follow ABA and PENT best practices in order to remain compliant with special education law. Additionally, the Specialist coordinates services at the school sites and provides coaching, modeling and development opportunities to school staff. Position Summary: We are looking for a competent Volunteer Coordinator to recruit and manage volunteers through the November 6, 2018 General Election. Successful candidate will be responsible for allocating responsibilities and retaining the best people as volunteers.
It takes a competent leader and go-getter to succeed in this role. The Volunteer Coordinator should know how to distinguish talent and do everything possible to motivate and inspire that talent. Successful candidate will possess excellent organizational skills and ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds and experience. A heavy emphasis will be placed on Spanish language outreach, and a successful candidate must be able to communicate fluently with this target population. 
The goal is to ensure that Yes on Measure M: Parks for All is always staffed with the best and most reliable individuals, and that they are correctly utilized for the fulfilment of our mission. We are also placing a heavy emphasis on Latino community outreach and volunteer mobilization through this position.

Salary:  $16-$20 per hr. DOE 
Position Summary: Social Advocates for Youth (SAY) is a non-profit agency serving at-risk youth and their families in Sonoma County. We have an immediate opening for a Transitional Aged Youth Advocate in Santa Rosa. Under the direct supervision of the Program Director of Housing Services at SAY, the Youth Advocate is responsible for providing supportive case management services to transitional aged youth (TAY) at the SAY housing or shelter programs. 
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
Responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment during all program operations
• Screen and interview applicants for program eligibility 
• Maintain intake and eligibility documentation per program requirement
• Provide comprehensive counseling/case management including job skills training, educational assistance, supportive services, leadership opportunities, and referrals to community resources.
• Develop and implement group activities and/or curriculum
• Complete documentation of services including: Case Notes, Service Plans, Incident Reports, etc.
• Coordinate with community partners to provide services and referrals.
• Network and liaise with landlords and neighbors in the community to provide excellent customer service and develop housing opportunities for youth.
• Provide Supportive Services to facilitate program participant lease signing and through tenancy to establish being a good renter. 
• Complete all required data entry into the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS).
• Support the Program Manager in meeting contract requirements
• Be a part of the On-Call Support Team
• Other duties as assigned
Title of Announcement: Bilingual Assessment Clinician 
Salary: $25.00-$27.00 per hour
Position Summary: Part-time. Under the direct supervision of the Counseling Program Managers, the Bilingual Assessment Clinician will work collaboratively within the organization to provide assessment services to identified clients across multiple programs and services. We provide excellent clinical supervision to licensure track clinicians.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
1. Provide intake, screening and assessment services to English and Spanish speaking youth and families
2. Create and maintain all necessary records
3. Assist families by actively referring them to appropriate services 
4. Respond in a positive and respectful manner to diversity among the agency's service population and staff 
5. Engage clients who may not want to receive services
6. Confer and cooperate with agencies such as police, sheriff, probation, social services, mental health, the 
courts, youth services and other organizations
7. Actively participate as part of the SAY Counseling Department Team
8. Follow all laws regarding confidentiality, mandated reporting, and HIPAA

Title of Announcement: Grants Writer Department: Development
Position Summary: Full-time. T he Grant Writer will be part of a dynamic fundraising team that works collaboratively to raise essential funds for the Redwood Empire Food Bank's (REFB) ongoing operations and strategic programs. The position is responsible for developing and writing grant proposals to foundations and other grant-making organizations, and will persuasively communicate the REFB's mission and programs to potential funders. The Grant Writer takes the lead on ensuring the REFB's robust grant program is effective, growing and meeting budget goals. In the current fiscal year, the REFB is on track to submit over 50 proposals. 
The Grant Writer will work closely with our development team, including one other full-time Grant Writer, to ensure the grant process is streamlined and effective. The Grant Writer will have a portfolio of grantors that they steward from the start of the application process through reporting, including stewardship.

Position Summary: Part-time. Humanidad is a Marriage Family Therapist training program and Educational Consultation agency in Santa Rosa. We work with much of the Latinx community throughout Sonoma County. In 2016 we were awarded a California Department of Public Health Disparity Act Grant and are preparing to incorporate their requirements into our day to day business. We work together in the style of mentorship and much of what we do is collaborative. Title of Announcement: Care Counselor
Salary: $15.50 - $16.50 per hour
Position Summary: The Care Counselor (Service Provider II) works with clients primarily in the field as part of a team supporting client recovery and independence. In this vital role, you will provide daily independent living assistance to clients individually and in groups in a manner that facilitates growth, the assumption of responsibility, and the increased ability to relate effectively with others. Position Summary: Working under supervision, Mail, Materials & Records Handler II's provide daily courier delivery and process mail, materials, and records retrieval services for Sonoma County departments and outside agencies. Mail, Materials & Records Handler II's also sort and distribute picked up courier materials, operate and maintain mail machines and barcode sorters, and deliver, retrieve, file, transfer, store, and dispose of Sonoma County and outside agency records.
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Experience with high production mail room equipment such as Pitney Bowes Mail Room Systems and Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS)
  • Courier experience specific to classified records, mail, parcels, and warehousing
  • Experience with receiving and retrieving records and files within a Records Management storage system
  • The ability to handle varied, multi-stop, daily courier routes within a specific window of time
  • An understanding of document retention schedules

Position Summary: The Community Dental Health Worker (CDHW) achieves a set of dental health competencies and serves as a linguistically and culturally competent member of the dental team. Their duties include: assist with Caries Risk Assessment completion, apply topical fluoride, use motivational interviewing to identify behavior change plans, provide patient and parent health education, instruct on use of mobile dental applications, ensure dental case management, track completion of treatment and behavior plans, refer for specialty care, inform parents of their dental insurance benefits, and provide resources for social and other services.

Title of Announcement: Nursing Services Director - Public Health
Salary: $106,088.32 - $128,942.28 Annually
Position Summary: The Nursing Services Director - Public Health plans and supervises the work of DHS' nurse workforce of approximately sixty full-time staff and allied personnel to ensure the understanding of and compliance with laws, regulations, codes, and agency policies and programs. The Director oversees nursing services which are focused on the control and prevention of communicable and chronic disease; the promotion of maternal, child, and adolescent health; the prevention of abuse and neglect of children, elders, and spouses; outreach screening, case management, resource coordination, and assessment; and the delivery and evaluation of care for individuals, families, and communities. As an integral part of the DHS leadership team, the Director is also responsible for:
  • Implementing an 18-month work plan for Emergency Preparedness
