Share your cybersecurity expertise and experience with others! The 2020 Community College Cyber Summit (3CS) is looking for proposals for breakout sessions for its upcoming event Aug. 4-6 at Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio. Entries can vary in length from half day, one day to one-, two- or three-hours and should fit into one of five tracks: Evidence-Based, Instruction, Practice, Program Development and Student. Proposals are due March 15.

FireEye has been detecting and responding to cyber attacks every day for over 15 years. The release of M-Trends® 2020 marks 11 years of providing the cybersecurity community with insights from the frontlines of those attacks. In earlier editions, M-Trends 2010 discussed how phishing was the most common and successful method APT groups used to gain initial access to an organization. That hasn’t changed. Many case studies in M-Trends 2020 also begin with phishing, perpetuating the widely held belief that people are typically the weakest link in the security chain.

National CyberWatch Center member, Howard Community College, has a job opening for a full-time Cisco Networking and Cybersecurity instructor. Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree with at least five years of college-level experience teaching in Cisco Networking. Knowledge in AWS, Azure, Linux, Cisco routing and switching, firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, penetration testing and vulnerability assessment is also required.

National CyberWatch Center member, Harford Community College, has an opening for a full-time, non-tenure track cybersecurity and information assurance faculty position to start this August. Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, information systems security, information assurance or a related field, and experience teaching related courses. They also need relevant industry certifications. Applications are due March 22.

This offensive and defensive puzzle-based, capture-the-flag style cybersecurity competition is a virtual training ground for high school and college students. Participants will work on a number of challenges to demonstrate and improve their skills. Registration opens Feb. 10.
