October 2018: CEOGC Enjoys Success at the Year's Final Community Job Fair

The Council for Economic Opportunities in Greater Cleveland (CEOGC) held its annual community job & career fair featuring a partnership with the  Boys & Girls Club of Cleveland . The fair was hosted at the BGCGC site in Slavic Village, a new venue for the community event.

"The need in this community is great, so we targeted it purposefully," said job development specialist, Matthew Anderson. "We connected with the city councilman of this ward, Tony Bracatelli, and we were informed of the income level so it made sense to get out in this community and help people get jobs."

Over 15 different companies were represented at the fair providing many opportunities for job seekers. Multiple attendees left the fair with more than two scheduled interviews.

Studies show that a child's first 2,000 days of life are the most formative. Preschool offers the chance for children to develop their social and academic skills in a safe, informative environment. Research shows kids who attend preschool have a greater chance for long-term success in life. The Council for Economic Opportunities offers high-quality preschool education to income-eligible families in Cuyahoga County.
