As part of our Veterans Day Celebration, CMS would like to pay tribute to all men and women related to a Carroll Middle School student who are serving or have served in any of our military forces. We would like to recognize them on a "Wall of Honor." If you would like to include a picture, please feel free to do so.
All Veterans are invited to attend the ceremony on Friday, Nov. 9 at 10:20 a.m. Come early to be seated and stay after for a reception.

CMS is starting Stuff the Bus early this year! Our annual Stuff the Bus canned food drive will be from Wednesday, Oct. 31 through Wednesday, Nov. 7.
The teacher with the most food donated on their behalf will dress like a shark for a day.

Color Guard Fall Workshop
Color Guard Jr Workshop/Performance Signup Deadline Approaching
Calling all students 4-8th grade, it's not too late to participate. The Dragon Color Guard will host its annual Junior Color Guard Workshop and Varsity Game performance. Workshop is on the Nov. 8 with a performance at the Varsity football game on the Nov. 9. Registration fee is $50. These fees include a commemorative t-shirt, hair bow, a snack and beverage after halftime, entry to the football game, and great training.

 The traditional PTSO Read to Win drawings are a part of the past. Now, all students who meet their reading goals each nine weeks are recognized a treat. The first one was Oct. 30 and over 200 students were rewarded with an ice pop. Thank you to the PTSO for supporting reading and providing the treats.

Art III Fieldtrip
 CMS and DMS went on a joint field trip to Dallas. They enjoyed the sculptural work of Joan Arp at the Nasher Museum and exhibition of The Cult of the Machine at the Dallas Museum of Art.

If girls wear leggings, the top worn with them must be knuckle length.
If she wears shorts, a dress or a skirt, these items must be at least knuckle length.

Prudential Spirit of Community Awards
 We would like to recognize CMS students who have volunteered in our community. If you have taken part in community service activities over the past year, please complete the Prudential Spirit of Community Award application. Any student who has volunteered may apply. CMS will select one applicant to represent our school for state recognition.

Bobby Bragan Youth Foundation Scholarship Program
CMS 8th graders have the opportunity to apply for a $2500 college s
cholarship by completing an application which includes the following: academic achievements, extracurricular and athletic activities, and community involvement. Each student is also required to write an essay on his or her favorite role model. CMS will select two applications for consideration to the Bobby Bragan Youth Foundation. Application deadline is Thursday, Nov. 15. More information is available at

Schedule Change Requests for 2nd Semester
Counselors will accept elective schedule change requests for 2nd semester Tuesday, Dec. 4 - Thursday, Dec. 6. Students can request a schedule change for electives using a Google document.
Keeping with the "Go Green" idea, we will not be printing their 2nd semester schedules for them to view. Students will need to access their schedules for 2nd semester through Student Access. We will print them for the 1st day of second semester. We will accept elective change requests for 2nd semester starting at 8:00 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 4 until 4:00 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 6.
In order to be fair to all students, we will not be able to accommodate any requests made via email or in person. The link will be available on the CMS Webpage under the Counseling Tab.
