5 Tips To Beat The Holiday and Post-Holiday Blues

Well. The sleigh bells have jingled. The elves have sat upon the shelves. 100.3 FM is now back to playing regular music. What does this all mean? It means holiday and post-holiday blues.
This time of year can feel like an intense shock to the system. You may be missing loved ones, feeling depressed due to the cold, stark, and snowy weather, and feeling like there is nothing to look forward to on the long road to spring. As a clinician at MFS who specializes in depression and grief, I work with many people who experience these emotions both during and after the holiday season. But fear not. Although some holiday blues are normal feelings we must embrace, accept and sit with, there are some tried and true methods to alleviate grief and depression throughout the season. Warm Up With a Great Bowl of Chili

During these winter months, there's nothing like a steamy bowl of chili to warm yourself up. I've dabbled with different recipes throughout the years, but recently my father-in-law entered the following recipe into a chili competition, requesting my input before his submission. I was instantly hooked, and got his permission to share it with our MFS community!
