Weekly Message from our Pastor

Climate Change: Hope

Hope. When I think back over conversations & correspondence, it's a word I use rather freely, because it's something I value for myself & others. For example:

            I hope you're feeling better.
I hope the team leaves town with a win.
We're all hoping it works to get together this Christmas.

Generally speaking, there are two kinds of hope. There are the hopes listed above. They involve things like health, finances, grades, relationships, healing, etc. Over time, most of us generate pretty long lists of things about which we are hopeful. And what happens? Some of our hopes are realized, some are not.
The Bible speaks of another kind of hope. Romans 3.3 says this:

"suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope..."

In other words, suffering - as miserable and agonizing an experience as it can be - when God is involved, can produce the one thing none of us can live without: hope. How does that happen? What role do we play? When does God come into the picture?
Join us this weekend as we wrap up our September message series on relationships with this final installment, "Climate Change: Hope"

Living for Jesus!
