Thoughts on
toilet paper and beyond!

The practice of yoga involves your whole being. Our muscles strengthen, we become more open, we move with ease. We see those benefits with our eyes. Yet there are many unseen benefits of yoga. Studies show a direct correlation to increased immune systems and yoga. A daily, or even a weekly practice of yoga decreases stress hormones. If that was not enough, yoga conditions your lungs, strengthens your respiratory tract, stimulates your lymphatic systems. Through the practice, oxygenated blood flows to our organs allowing their optimal functioning.
Consistency with our yoga practice yields these unseen benefits
and beyond.  We need this more than ever!
The stress, the fear, the moments of overwhelm are real right now. We can not do anything with the outside fears coming in. Yet we do have power and choice with our own fear, stress and overwhelm. You can bring all of that to your mat. Let it release through your breath and asana. Allow a flow of the toxins, emotional and otherwise, to release from the body.

Your response, rather than reaction, is powerful. The worry, doubt and fear will not disappear, but the hold they have on you will dissipate. There you may find yourself being still in the moment of panic, being calm for another who is caught in the fear, being a steady force as we collectively make our way through this time.
Your immune system will be thriving and JOYful!
So, buy all the toilet paper you want, gather as much water as you think you need, then take actions, make daily choices, toward your own health and well-being –

Take a walk , sing a song, breathe deeply, dance , forgive someone , practice yoga, drink more water, meditate, be kind , be joy . . .

a plethora of ways! Find yours and be conscious of the moments, and what it is you need. Be consistent, diligent, committed.

Then, even if you do not need all the toilet paper and water,
your health, well-being, body, mind and spirit will be better for it!
It is a natural reaction to want to pull away from community – events getting cancelled, gatherings being postponed.

Rather, I invite you to see this as a way we can come closer together.
What we are experiencing, world-wide, illustrates how very connected we all are. There is no separation. The darkness of the moment is urging us remember the light. The light that remains in everything. All the people throughout the globe that are connected through this event, within that light. May we feel, in that connection, a readiness to spread something beyond a virus.  Connected in choice to spread more love and JOY!

We will be open for business as usual to support you and
this spreading of love and joy!

Our gatherings will continue with a few added precautions:

  • We have antibacterial spray at the studio. Please spray any ‘rental’ mats or blocks you are using The blankets will be washed regularly. If you have your own mat and props make a conscious effort to bring those with you for practice. If you do not have your own yoga mat, it may be a great time to invest in yourself and get one!

  • We, as Mudita staff, will continue to keep up with the cleanliness and disinfecting of the studio on a whole.

  • During this time, we are limiting our hands-on adjustments and instead, instructors are focusing on providing guidance and assists through verbal cueing.

  • If you are sick or feel unwell, especially having a fever and or cough or shortness of breath, please do not attend class. Stay home, rest, and recover fully. Drink plenty of fluids. We will be sending you love.

  • If you are well, come and share practice with us! As a wise woman once said, 'we are stronger together'!

  • Wash your hands for 20 seconds before and after every class. My sweet son, Tony, suggested we say a mantra to know how long that 20 seconds is!!! Here is one for a peaceful life and clean hands! Chant two times through:

Sarveshaam Svaastir Bhavatu,
Sarveshaam Svaastir Bhavatu,
Saveshaam Poornam Bhavatu,
Sarveshaam Mangalam Bhavatu,
Om Shanti, Shanti Shanteeh"

May health abound forever
May peace abound forever
May complete abundance abound forever
May auspiciousness abound forever
Om Peace, Peace Peace
Please let me know if there are other ways I can support you,
within the studio or with-out.
I deeply appreciate all of you and your continued support of Mudita!
I look forward to further the spreading of JOY!
