1:   From the Principal

A huge thank you to all of the families that were able to join us for conferences.  I recognize evenings can be very busy and we appreciate your time.  For families that were not able to attend feel free to reach out to teachers with your questions or concerns.

This week was a very busy week for our counselors and teachers that were helping students with early applications to colleges and universities.  It is a huge process for our students, counselors, and coordinators.  Thank you all for putting students first and helping them plan for their future.

Today marks the end of the first quarter and I have to say the year is moving along quickly.  Thank you parents and families for all your efforts to make this a great start to the year.  I look forward to our partnership as we continue to progress through the year.

Scott Meyers
Principal

5:  DECA Students Attend Minnesota Fall Leadership Conference

47 SLP DECA Students attend the Minnesota Fall Leadership Conference

Here are a couple quotes from students:

"FLC this past weekend was a great time! I learned lots of new things, heard many new ideas on how to grow as a person interested in the business world, and things we can do to grow and improve our chapter. Another fun part is spending time with your friends and getting to make memories at this 2-day conference. This year having so many new members was so awesome! Our chapter felt more like the others who have a big presence at conferences and competitions. So we hope to keep our size up all year. Another thing I personally liked and I know many others enjoyed too, was the evening entertainment of the Hypnotist. It was cool and intriguing to watch some of our own members up on that stage!" - Rachel Salzar

"At FLC we listened to motivational speakers talk to us about what it means to succeed in the business world, socially and within ourselves. It made me reflect on how I can do better in regards to preparing myself for the future and making logical and mature decisions."  - Maddie Hoffman

18:  "Funky Sock" Fundraiser
Hello! As a school, we believe that IB will be the best preparation for life outside of school as it prepares critical thinkers who strive for intercultural understanding. Our district is incredibly generous in covering the majority of the costs for IB exams, but some families that do not qualify for free/reduced lunch find their portion of the registration fee to be a burden on their family. We would like to have a fund for assisting families with extenuating circumstances with their IB exam registration fees. Please help us build this fund by buying some socks! These socks are so cute they will make great holiday presents!

Thank you so much for your support!
