The survey results on last week's survey ....

- We have been using Google Adwords for around 5 years and do believe we are getting a return on our investment but are cannot measure precisely. Most of our clients still contact us by phone so it is hard to track. You also have to constantly stay on top of it in order to keep down the wasted clicks such as "skateboard stickers", "Elvis Posters" and the like. You also have to deal with constant phone calls from Google "partners" mostly located overseas trying to take control of your adwords account for a fee. My staff do some Facebook posting and seem quite happy about keeping in contact with some of our clients that way but I do not see much in the way of new business from FB. Not a great fan of social media advertising but it is now part of the fabric we have to work with. (Harry, Varsity Graphics)

Yes, Facebook and Instagram. It has helped our business to be more prominent in the minds of people in our area, even though we have been in the same location for over 15 years, people still didn't realise what we can do beyond just signage and tint, so it has helped to get that knowledge out there.
- No, tried Google Analytics and that was a disaster. We get quite a bit of exposure from FaceBook but I don't think it has reflected any benefits to our business.
- We provide a very niched service and and I don't think social media is any good for such a specialised service/ If you are selling to everybody, maybe it would help.
- Like all advertising it requires constant management which is very time consuming for such a small and hands on company. It can also be quite difficult to moniter which media is generating the best results
(As a publishing practice to protect ourselves from any potential liability, company and individual names that are referred to negatively in any of these comments are removed.
In addition we reserve the right to remove comments that are either considered offensive or are blatant advertising for one product or company)

A Harley Biker is riding by the zoo in Washington, DC when he sees a little girl leaning into the lion's cage. Suddenly, the lion grabs her by the collar of her jacket
and tries to pull her inside to slaughter her, under the eyes of her screaming parents. The biker jumps off his Harley, runs to the cage and hits the lion square on the nose
with a powerful punch. Whimpering from the pain the lion jumps back letting go of the girl, and the biker brings the girl to her terrified parents, who thank him endlessly. A reporter has watched the whole event. The reporter addressing the Harley rider says, "Sir, this was the most gallant and bravest thing I've seen a man do in my whole life." The Harley rider replies, "Why, it was nothing, really. The lion was behind bars. I just saw this little kid in danger, and acted as I felt right." The reporter says, "Well, I'll make sure this won't go unnoticed. I'm a journalist, you know, and tomorrow's paper will have this story on the front page. So, what do you do for a living, and what political affiliation do you have?" The biker replies "I'm a U.S. Marine, a Republican and I voted for Trump." The journalist leaves. The following morning the biker buys the paper to see if it indeed brings news of his actions, and reads, on the front page: "U.S. MARINE ASSAULTS AFRICAN IMMIGRANT & STEALS HIS LUNCH" And THAT pretty much sums up the media's approach to the news these days!
