Dear Family and Friends of South Cove Manor:
Earlier this morning, I notified all of you that one staff member tested positive COVID-19 as part of our surveillance testing over the weekend. To clarify, the staff member that tested positive is a nurse that works on a part-time basis on the second floor north. This staff member has not been vaccinated, and last worked on Saturday, April 10th I’m writing to you all again with some additional information about our plan going forward.
- We will be testing all staff and residents today, and then every 3 days until no more new cases in one week.
- In addition, we will be testing all residents under her care that are not fully vaccinated every 2 days, for 14 days.
- All the residents under this staff’s care will be on quarantine for 14 days. No visitation, no communal dinning, no group activity on 2nd floor north side for 14 days (from 4/12/21 to 4/25/21).
- All staff will use full PPE to care for quarantine residents, use gown and gloves for high contact care for all other residents.
I will keep you all informed as this situation unfolds. I am confident that our infection control practices, coupled with our high vaccination rates in both residents and staff will get us through this difficult time safely. Please feel free to reach out to Li Chen or I with any questions.
Thank you again for placing your trust in South Cove Manor.
