              Classes

Computer class

Four of the boys were able to attend
a computer class.

The boys attended a cooking class led by JR Talleres Coposa. They learned how to make Ham filled crescents, Deli bread, Coconut bread, Colored truffles, and  Venezuelan cheese sticks.  YUM!

They also attended a baking class led by Dr. Pan. They learned how to make French bread, Pizza and Cinnamon rolls.

There is no doubt that it was a very fun  and productive summer for our boys.

We want to take the opportunity to say thank y ou to everyone who made this possible!

"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." Galatians 6:9

WHAT'S NEW AT LA BALIZA RANCH

   Parent training Workshop

We hosted our first Parent Training Workshop. Many of the parents of the students in our school attended for a time of teaching and training on child rearing.

NDLL sees these training sessions to impoverished families as a way to bless their families and prevent more children from ending up on the streets due to neglect and lack of discipline and guidance in the home.

                                                                                     Young Life Camp

This summer our boys were invited to attend summer camp with the organization Young Life. The boys had a wonderful time experiencing new adventures and meeting new friends.

We were also encouraged to hear that many of our boys were the ones sharing in the Bible study times and leading others in prayer. It so beautiful to witness the transformation in the boy's lives and the blessing they've become to others around them.

               Outreach

This summer we've focused on reaching out to our community. The boys and our staff spent a couple days a month cleaning the local beaches. They gathered many bags of trash and ended the day swimming and surfing!

On another opportunity, we  spent the   day at a local orphanage. The boys enjoyed their time playing with the kids and helping around the orphanage changing light bulbs, cleaning fans and washing their vehicles. We're grateful for the opportunity we had to serve other children in need.

                                                                  Camp Out

We've had some fun family together this summer camping on the beach for 3 days. The boys went crazy hunting for crabs, kayaking, swimming and just goofing around together!

Vacation Bible School

We hosted our yearly Vacation Bible School  with the kids in our neighborhood. It was a fun week of activities, teachings and dramas. It's always a highlight of the summer!

Consider joining our NDLL team as an intern.

If you have a personal relationship with Christ and can make a minimum three month  commitment , you could make a huge difference!
Of course, a working knowledge of Spanish would be a big plus.
As you give of yourself to serve and love these young men, you  will also experience the daily life of another culture  and gain excellent life and work experience.

 SOUTH SUDAN

WHAT'S NEW

                At Home

At the market

The past few months have brought so much growth to the boys in South Sudan, according to their house father, Moses. They are really taking ownership of their house, cleaning, cooking, and even doing some of the shopping.

They also know how to make and serve tea (an important part of their culture). They care for one another and "treat one another with full love and respect."

                                                                                         At School

In school, they attend classes Monday-Friday and are improving academically. Some of their school activities include
drama and soccer.

The boys are growing spiritually as well, praying and reading their Bibles and helping to lead devotions. In church they help lead the praise and worship time and share personal testimonies.

Bebe Joseph Moses - Street Educator

" I really feel excited and blessed to work with the children, everyday receiving new spiritual encouragement words through morning and evening devotions. And I also feel {I am} growing spiritual in my faith and building a strong spiritual foundation.

My life purpose is live responsively to God's call and God's purpose. By taking delight in the Lord, His desires will become mine (Palms 37: 4) and in them I shall find fulfillment and joy.

My vision or responsibility to the ministry as street Educator is ... to teach the children to be disciples of Jesus Christ not the disciples of denominations but interdenominational disciples that can make transformation of the whole nation and world to know Jesus Christ."
Thank {you and} God bless,
Bebe Joseph Moses
