Happy Thanksgiving & Holiday Season

Gracias! Merci! Thanks!
Maggie, Mark and the entire Wine Cave Team want to take a moment to let you know how thankful we are to have people like you at the winery. We wish you and your family the best this Thanksgiving and throughout the holiday season.

Try Maggie's mulled wine!
The weather has turned chilly and fall colors are on the trees surrounding the winery.
Another sure sign of autumn is Maggie's mulled wine in the Cave!
Made with 2015 Garnacha or Rhapsody in Red, we can show you how to make it for your holiday gatherings.
It’s so easy - and so good!
Wine Club Party is Nov. 30
Maggie's Wine Club Party featuring hot hors d'oeuvres and her December wine release is 5-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30.
Maggie will announce, the three wines in her December release, via social media. Stay tuned to Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

What pairs with Thanksgiving?
Turning the calendar page to November, Maggie will bring back pumpkin pie pairings with her dessert Petit Manseng wine. Yum!
For Thanksgiving, turkey is a fairly neutral main dish and goes with nearly any wine. However, try focusing on wines that pair with the array of side dishes, like sweet potatoes and stuffing with dried fruit or apples, served with the holiday meal.
The light-bodied red wine, Garnacha, might just be the unsung wine of Thanksgiving. The grape is grown in both Spain and France. But Maggie's estate-grown 2015 Garnacha , has loads of red fruit and cinnamon flavors. When matched with turkey and gravy, Garnacha falls nicely into the role of cranberry sauce.
Still want a white for Thanksgiving? Consider the versatile Petit Manseng. Similar to a Riesling, Maggie has several varieties with 2015, 2016 and 2017 vintages - each with a nice balance of sweetness and acidity that complements your entire Thanksgiving dinner, as well as her dessert 2015 Petit Manseng which goes well with pumpkin pie and cheesecake. (Maggie's 2015 and 2016 white wines, including several Petit Mansengs in dry and sweet varieties, are 50% off for a case of 12 bottles.)
Harvest Kindness Nov. 10
Maggie and Mark believe that all winery and vineyard owners are colleagues in our industry.
That's why they are supporting friends and fellow vineyard owners Jan and Fernando Mathov - and they are asking you to help, too.
In 2014, Jan had an accident on their Waterford, VA, farm that left her paralyzed. In order to work the vines, she needs a $20,000 specialized traction wheelchair.
Recognizing she needs help affording the device, nearby vintners put together a fundraising effort called Harvest Kindness to help cover the cost of the new chair. Donations are accepted via a GoFundMe page.
North Gate Vineyards (16301 Hillsboro Road, Purcellville, VA) is hosting a Harvest Kindness Event 7-9 p.m. Nov. 10 with food, live music and prizes.  Tickets are $25  and includes a wine glass, one drink and a raffle entry.
Maggie and Mark have contributed a raffle prize - a tasting and tour of the Wine Cave plus two bottles of Maggie's award-winning wines - your choice! You don't have to be present to win! Raffle tickets are available in the Cave this weekend! Click here to order online raffle tickets.
Please join us in supporting this cause. We appreciate your kindness and consideration.

ICYMI: Maggie won - again!

In case you missed it (ICYMI), Maggie's 2017 Albarino and 2017 Viognier (both are available now) won Best of Show for each grape at the Loudoun Wine Awards (LWA) dinner in October.
She has earned 44 new awards and medals this year for her estate-grown wines. These latest distinctions tell us what we already know: Maggie is emerging as a leading Virginia winemaker and Mark is growing some amazing grapes.
