A critical part of the work our Client Support Services team does is helping people stay in their homes. Our team works with individuals and families at risk and helps them find the best resources for their situation. They also may help put a financial package together to meet a specific need, such as a security deposit, by using our emergency financial assistance fund and other partner funds.
A story from Matt on the Client Support Services team.
"I'm working with a client to help them get their housing voucher re-certified. Part of this process involves submitting documentation to prove things like the client’s household size, income, and medical needs. This client has some pretty complex medical needs, but I was still a little taken aback with how big their application ended up being after we got everything together.
It ended up being 248 pages total, including seven fax cover pages. If we are being honest, I don’t think I could keep that kind of documentation together for a year, even it meant I could lose my housing. It’s hard to believe the incredible barriers our have to clients face. I am always in awe of their resiliency."
