Earlier today, the San Francisco Interfaith Council (SFIC) hosted the 50th in a series of weekly COVID-19 response briefings for faith leaders. Today's briefing featured San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) Water Conservation Manager Julie Ortiz, who provided an overview of drought and local water supply conditions and actions the SFPUC is taking and asking its customers to follow to help stretch our water supplies as we enter a second dry year in these times of COVD-19. She also reviewed key water saving strategies people can take in their homes, congregations and businesses, and free water conservation assistance and resources the SFPUC provides.
Also participating were Zoom Briefing Moderator/SFIC Executive Director Michael Pappas, SFIC Founder and Past Chair Rita R. Semel, Old Mission Dolores Curator and member of the Ohlone Nation Andrew Galvan, Interfaith Power & Light/The Regeneration Project Founder and President Emeritus The Rev. Canon Sally G. Bingham and Urban Water Works Principal/Harvard University School of Engineering and Applied Sciences Associate Susan Leal. Special appreciation is extended to SFIC Program/Administrative Associate Cynthia Zamboukos and COVID Command Center's Joint Information Center Community Partners Group Coordinator John McKnight and Virtual Outreach Team Briefing Producer Alisa Kerawala.
Please join us next week (Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 8:30 am) for a special interactive Vaccine Confidence training designed to help congregation leaders gain confidence in vaccine choices and offer effective ways to convey this critical messaging to their congregants.
