Mission Moment: Take a Walk in Their Socks
Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Indiana provides a "home-away-from-home" for more than 5,000 families of hospitalized children each year.
With one pair of socks, you can help keep families together and near the care they need.

The last few months of the year are always busy ones for our House! As we wrap up our 35th anniversary (I know -- we don't look a day over 25!) we're excited to unveil our brand-new #SockItforRMHC campaign!
#SockItforRMHC is an opportunity for friends and supporters of our House to help RMHCCIN families with just a pair of socks! Now through October 5,
with your donation of $10 or more, you can receive a pair of our signature red and white striped socks! Once you have your socks, get social and share a photo on Facebook, Instagram and/or Twitter using the hashtag above. Not only have you just donated to help a family be near their child, you've also helped us raise awareness to support even more families -- and looked great while doing it!
All of this culminates to one big celebration on Friday, October 5 (or Friday, October 12 for our friends in Terre Haute!) in honor of Day of Change -- a full day dedicated to commemorating the opening of the very first Ronald McDonald House in Philadelphia, PA and recognizing the powerful difference that your small change can make for our families. We'll be at various McDonald's restaurants throughout the Central Indiana region celebrating our big day and may even bring a few friends along with us. We hope that you'll put on those socks, grab your spare change and join us!

The Adopt-a-Room program is a year-long sponsorship of a room or continuing care apartment at our Limestone and Riley Houses. The program provides families with much more than just a roof over their heads -- it helps to provide support, home-cooked meals and relief from their stressful situations. Most importantly, room partners are helping families focus on what matters most -- their seriously-ill or injured child.
This month we recognize
Barnyard Baggers for their dedication to keeping families together and near the care they need. Barnyard Baggers is a Northwest Indiana custom motorcycle shop. This year they chose RMHCCIN as their charity of choice at their annual motorcycle raffle, raising over $24K for the House!

September 9 was National Teddy Bear Day and all of our families had a chance to celebrate thanks to our friends at Southwest Airlines and Build-a-Bear! More than 7,100 bears were distributed to Ronald McDonald Houses nationwide! Needless to say, our RMHCCIN kiddos were "bear-y" excited -- just take a look at those smiles!
A big thank you to Gymboree Play and Music who brought the fun with their recent visit to the House! Families had the opportunity to play, learn and enjoy some time with Gymbo the Clown! |

Fun Fact #8: Did you know 92% of families travel 52 miles or more to stay at RMHCCIN?
More often than not, families find themselves at our House after news of an unexpected illness or accident. The majority of our families travel over 52 miles to seek the medical care their child needs. Far from home, many families arrive with just the clothes on their back and the gas in their tank - unsure of how to get by for the next few days, weeks or sometimes months. In their moment of need, RMHCCIN is there to provide a "home-away-from-home."
Thanks to your support, RMHCCIN is able to provide over 5,000 families a safe, comfortable place just steps away from their sick or injured child every year. Thank you for helping us continue our mission of keeping families together and near the care they need.
