 November 2, 2018
Happy Friday! Even though the week was short, we still had a lot of fun! Our week culminated with our student led Harvest Parties! Our student leaders did a great job planning, organizing and working during the party. Great job, leadership team! It was wonderful to see all the creative costumes and the fun being had.

We also concluded fall CCSS projects! It was awesome to see our kids engineering amazing projects that incorporated multiple subject areas. A special thank you to our outstanding teachers who planned and guided them through these fun yet challenging projects. It is projects like these that help makes TRCS such an magical place!

Mindset thought of the week: I saw a quote last week that said “Be Kind, Be Thoughtful, Be Genuine, and most of all Be Thankful.” I thought this was a simple yet impacting mindset. As we move into November and the Holiday season, I hope we all spend time thinking about others and being thankful! Have a great weekend and we will see everybody on Monday.

Upcoming Dates
Please visit our website at www.3rcs.org for the latest school calendar updates!
Last week’s Fun Run kicked off our fundraising efforts with great excitement and participation. Thank you!

TRCS has a fundraising goal of $75,000 for the 2018/19 school year. Fun Run donations that exceed the cost of the Gaga Ball Court and Classroom Emergency Kits will be put towards this goal.

With this fundraising goal, TRCS intends to:
  • Purchase new math curriculum;
  • Continue to update and improve classroom technology; and
  • Sustain and enhance high quality learning environments.

Two community fundraising events are planned: Friendsgiving and a Spring Auction!

At our 2nd Annual Friendsgiving potluck on November 15th, a Giving Tree (select specific supplies or school activities to sponsor) and Party Boards (purchase a spot(s) to attend an activity/experience, dinner, or class) will be available. Outside of any credit card processing fees, 100% of the money raised will go directly to TRCS!

Finally, Save the Date for Friday, April 12th, 2019! Planning for the Spring Auction is underway, and we welcome your help and ideas.

We know this community has unique and diverse talents; together we can create meaningful events that will support this outstanding academic program we have chosen for our students.

Please consider joining us at our next Fundraising Meeting on Wednesday, November 7th, 3:15pm at TRCS, for more information on how you can get involved to help make fundraising at Friendsgiving and the Spring Auction a smashing success!

TRCS Friendsgiving!
The 2nd Annual TRCS Friendsgiving is coming on Nov. 15th – mark your calendar for this exciting event! The invite and potluck sign-up will be sent out this weekend via Signup Genius! Please check your email, RSVP, and sign-up to bring a dish to share. In addition to the community gathering, we will be raising funds for TRCS. See the message from the Fundraising Committee to learn more about TRCS’s fundraising goals. We hope to see you at this fun, family friendly event!
Got Pumpkins?
The Friendsgiving committee is working on planning a fun evening on Nov. 15th! If anyone is going to be getting rid of uncarved pumpkins or gourds now that Halloween is past, before you send them off to the compost pile, could we use them for Friendsgiving? We are hoping to collect uncarved pumpkins and gourds to use that evening. If you are planning to get rid of any, please email Karen Gault . She will be happy to meet you at drop-off or pick-up to collect them!
Show Some Spirit
It's fun to be able to show community pride. We are taking orders from now until November 16th (right before Thanksgiving Break) for school shirts with this year's design (see above). There is a wide variety of sizes available and we would love to have both students and family members show their spirit for Team TRCS by wearing a shirt. Each shirt costs $20 and the proceeds go to covering costs of production and ordering. This is a one-time ordering process and the design will never be repeated, so we hope you choose to join in! Forms are attached here and available in the entrance of the school.
ODE School and District Report Cards
Oregon Department of Education has released the school report cards for the 2017-18 school year. You can view the TRCS Report Card and the WLWV Report Card . You will notice the new design created by ODE to give you a better snapshot of each school, as well as grades to give us a rating that reflects our academic program. We are pleased to announce that we are among the highest rated schools in the state of Oregon! Our test scores reflect a strong academic core in our curriculum and the high attendance score demonstrates a strong commitment of our families for getting students to school to learn! Thank you parents - we make a great team!
