This workshop is designed to help parents learn more about the culprits that are threatening children's optimal development including excessive use of screens/technology, inadequate nutrition, lack of creative play, and over-scheduled lives. Free and practical strategies that nurture positive child development will be shared. For those of you interested in animal welfare, this meeting is for you. Our speaker on will be Jen Varner; Jen works with 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue, a group that rescues dogs and arranges for their adoption. She will explain how "foster rescue" organizations function and how they raise funds for their work. Jen resides in Enola, PA and has worked with 2nd Chance for 6 years. She handles screening potential adopters and arranges the placement. She also helps in event organization, rescue transport and fund-raising. Jen personally fosters numerous furry friends.
 
Seniors by the Wayside meets on the second Wednesday of each month, at 12 noon, in the Atrium. Bring your bag lunches [we provide the beverages] and join us to welcome our guest and enjoy another interesting presentation. We invite others in the greater Wayside community, even if you are not "senior," to attend this very interesting presentation.
