Dear Lovejoy Community:

One of our unique Lovejoy traditions is Leopard Friday, which will be held on Friday, September 28 beginning at 4:30 PM. This community event is a great opportunity for a fun family evening. The Courtyard at Lovejoy High School will be set up with a variety of activities your children will enjoy. The high school is hosting a fundraiser BBQ dinner catered by Sonny Bryan’s. Our state-ranked volleyball team will take on Princeton at 5:00 PM in the competition gym. The Community Pep Rally will begin at 6:00 PM. Our football team will take on Denton Braswell at 7:00 PM in the stadium. For your convenience, we have added the option of using your debit/credit card at the stadium concession stand. Kona Ice will once again be on site selling sno-cones, and Chick-fil-A sandwiches have been added as an option at the stadium’s home concession stand.  This is one of the two football games where we bring in a bounce house for our younger kids to add a little fun for them as well. The bounce house will be located inside the stadium adjacent to the home concession stand. I would recommend coming out to the courtyard activities even if you do not plan to attend the volleyball or football games. It is going to be a great night and we hope to see you there.

Football Season Tickets
As you know, we increased football season tickets this year to help offset the loss of state funding. This decision almost doubled our revenue for season ticket sales. With that said, I wanted you to know that some season tickets will be available for Leopard Friday and you can either contact the Athletic Office (469-742-8068) or purchase a reserved ticket at the ticket booth on game night. I hope to see you all at the stadium on Friday.

Foundation for Lovejoy Schools
North Texas Giving Day:
Thank you
The Foundation for Lovejoy Schools would like to say thank you to the Lovejoy Community for raising over $114,000 from approximately 450 donors on North Texas Giving Day. The Foundation is well on their way to reaching their $200,000 goal by December 31 with great support from Lovejoy families and the community. Every gift is valuable to the mission of enhancing education in Lovejoy. If you are considering making a donation to the Foundation, please click here for more information.

Circle of Partners

As you know, we continue to seek creative ways to enhance our revenue stream to offset the loss of state funds. Our reduction in state funding is projected to be ~$1.5 million based upon our per pupil level of funding from last year. A loss of state funds leaves us with two options: 1) Cut programs or 2) Seek a new revenue stream. Our Board of Trustees has directed the administration to do everything we can to protect the current experiences that our Lovejoy kids receive in K-12. While we are doing a variety of things to raise funds, we have begun a new Circle of Partners. This program embraces opportunities with area business who share revenue with our school district.

We are pleased to announce our newest Circle of Partners member:
The Cave Realty Team ( www.CaveRealty.com ) joins the Circle of Partners, pledging 15% of gross commission on homes they help sell or buy within Lovejoy ISD. Team owners Ryan and Sarah Cave are proud parents of Lovejoy Elementary School first grader Adelaide (Addie), with 5-year-old Anders soon to follow.

The Cave Realty Team joins the following Circle of Partners members:
Reinhard Real Estate pledges 10% of gross commission to several non-profits including Lovejoy ISD. Their website can be found at   Reinhard Real Estate . Jeff and Terri Reinhard own Reinhard Real Estate. They are proud Puster parents to fourth grader Ben, and 2nd grader Max.

Accent Landscape Management pleges 10% of gross revenues on work performed within Lovejoy ISD. Accent provides landscaping, irrigation and lawn maintenance services for commercial and residential properties. Their website may be found at Accent Landscape Management . Owners, Phillip and April Sheppard, are proud Hart parents of second grader, Kaiser, and Kindergartener, Sebastian, with two-year-old Charlotte soon to follow.

Lovejoy High School Band and Color Guard

After two weeks of rained out half times, the Lovejoy Band and Color Guard held an open dress rehearsal in preparation for their first marching competition. The Lovejoy Band’s UIL Marching show is titled, "Silent Night". The drill design has been a collaborative effort by the LHS Head Director Paul Heuer and Percussion Specialist, Nathan Lewis, and designed by assistant Director, Daniel King. The selection of music includes two pieces from Tchaikovsky’s, Swan Lake and The Nutcracker , Battle on the Ice by Prokofiev, and Silent Night by Grube. This year’s show features a winter themed set, colorful silks, and custom uniforms. Please enjoy a sneak preview of the program as performed on Monday evening during dress rehearsal.

On Saturday, September 29, the Lovejoy Band and Color Guard will compete at the Denton Golden Triangle Marching Competition.
