Winter Weather is Coming! Be Prepared
November is here already and so begins the winter driving season. We want you all to be safe out there on the roads and so NOW is the time to get your vehicles winter weather ready. Changing tires to winter rated or studs is always a good idea. Some helpful items to put in your car for safety are: a blanket, to keep warm should you get stuck somewhere, a working flashlight, as the days grow dark earlier you may need it to find your way to a client’s door, some water, and shovel. In addition it is important that you are prepared for walking outdoors in wet and possibly icy conditions so a pair of waterproof boots with good traction may prevent you from slipping and injuring yourselves.
To be safe you may also want leave a little earlier to ensure you arrive safely and on time to your shift, should you run late to your shift please give the office a call so we can make your clients aware and they won’t worry. Please remember to stay safe and keep your clients safe.  Your clients expect you to be there for them so please take some time now to become winter ready.

Caregiver Profile:
Darlene P.
20 years years with AHC!

What do you love about being a caregiver?
I get to work with my heroes every day. I have met the most amazing people because of this job. I wouldn't do anything else. Caregiving is not just my job; it's who I am as a person.

Any advice you would give to a newer caregiver?
It's hard losing a client. But the wonderful people you get to meet make it all worth crying and doing it over and over again. You never stop learning in this job. Keep your eyes and mind open; there's always room to learn from those around you.

Why have you chosen to stay at Advanced all these years?
Advanced Health Care is like my 2nd family. I took a year off to take care of my husband before he passed, but Advanced welcomed me back when I was ready.

Thank you for your 20 years of faithful service, Darlene!
Congratulations to Lyndsie R.
She is a now a CNA! Enjoy your increase in pay.
GET YOUR FREE FLU SHOT!
Flu season is upon us! Because you work with vulnerable adults on a regular basis, we strongly encourage each of you to receive a flu shot. If you haven’t gotten your flu shot yet, please do so soon! There are a few options for you to get your flu shot covered:

1 . Most insurance companies cover flu shots at 100%
2 . If you do not have insurance coverage, Advanced Health Care will reimburse you for your flu shot - up to $40, with receipt.
3 . If you are unable to pay for your flu shot up front, contact JoAnne, HR Manager, for a location that may provide you your flu shot at no cost to you.

Could you use an extra $200?
That is how much we PAY YOU for every person you refer to us as an employee. Once they are hired and work the 160 hour requirement, we write you a check! Send us a good caregiver or nurse that you know today.
