Restore or Retreat partners with Chevron and Fletcher to host workforce event
This is the third Working for Our Coast event held in the Bayou Region, linking the community to coastal opportunities.

With the support of Chevron, Restore or Retreat is pleased to host Working for Our Coast on
Thursday, October 11 from 9am to 1pm, where Terrebonne Parish 11th graders will visit Fletcher Technical Community College to explore coastal careers... and we could use your help!!

Juniors will be transported to the Main Campus in Schriever during FTCC's fall break.  After an introduction to the day and the coast, students will hear from guest speakers on coastal careers like engineering, design, construction, biology, landscape architecture, geomatics, etc. They will enjoy lunch thanks to the help of the Callais Family Fund, and will also be able to visit outside tables from local organizations and businesses, as well as demonstrations on the main lawn before heading back to school.

Please let us know if you are willing to provide any (or all!) of the following:
  • a guest speaker
  • a table for students to visit with additional information on coastal opportunities
  • a coastal equipment demonstration
  • a volunteer (or two!) to help throughout the day
The flyer and form to RSVP is available on our website-- we hope to see you at Fletcher in October!!

Sponsorship information and registration is available online, and invitations will be in the mail soon!

ROR is excited to announce our third quarter Field Report webinar focused on Bayou Lafourche!

Please join us on Wednesday, October 10 at noon for a virtual lunch and learn on improvements to the pump station and bayou, which directly impacts over 300,000 residents in Lafourche, Terrebonne, Assumption and Ascension.

ROR had a busy summer-- here are a few "action" shots we wanted to be sure to share!

ROR visited the farm at Nicholls State University to learn more about  BTNEP's work there, as well as future opportunities!

A huge thank you to Leah Brown of Chevron for being our guest speaker at our Annual Meeting, where she talked about coastal partnerships and commitment.

ROR also visited the Smithsonian's Water/Ways exhibit in Phoenix, La.   The exhibit is currently in Denham Springs, and will be moving elsewhere in the state.

ROR visited Duplantis Design Group to discuss coastal projects and resources, and also used the opportunity to take people to the virtual coast using Coast 360 developed by our friends at the Restore the Mississippi River Delta.  Email us if you want us to visit your business!
