Congratulations to Kumon Math & Reading of Kenmore On Their New Location!
Kenmore City Manager Rob Karlinsey and guests cut the ribbon at
Kumon's Open House for their new location this week.
This year is the 60th-year celebration of the Kumon program, and their after-school supplemental education program helps students to be academically successful in school and beyond. It also helps students to develop good study habits and work skills, and more importantly, helps to boost perseverance and endurance in life.
The Kenmore location of Kumon has been running for 11 years. Kumon has helped many students be successful in school and beyond!

City Of Kenmore News & Events
 City Earns Another Clean Audit
The City of Kenmore is pleased to announce that for the 17th year in a row, the City has just received a clean audit opinion from the Washington State Auditor's Office. The Financial Statement and Federal Single Audit covered the City's 2017 Financial Statements and Federal grant awards and there were no findings or management issues noted. A finding is a deficiency, material weakness, or misstatement, discovered during an audit, which the auditor is required to report. Accountability Audit procedures were also performed to determine whether the City complied with applicable laws and regulations and our own policies and procedures.

Today the City of Bothell welcomes Jeanie Ashe as its new Economic Development Manager. Ashe has 15 years of experience in economic development, public infrastructure grants and loans, tourism and business retention, expansion and attraction efforts. Ashe comes to Bothell from the City of Lake Stevens, where she was the Economic Development Manager. City of Bothell Seeks Art For Display
The City of Bothell is seeking artists and/or artist groups looking to exhibit their art at the City of Bothell gallery for 2019 and 2020. The City Hall gallery is an open space in the main lobby and hallway leading to City Council Chambers. The deadline to apply is Nov. 10.

Northshore Veterans Memorial Fundraising Efforts
 A current senior in Northshore school district, Cami Brix has been working with Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 3348 and 4314 to increase community awareness of and fundraising for the installation of the Northshore Veterans Memorial at Pop Keeney Stadium. This is a wonderful opportunity for the community to honor those who attended the
Northshore School District and died while serving our country. They are half way to their funding goal of $25,000 so your help is greatly needed. They are looking for businesses to participate in a community matching fundraising campaign and restaurants to participate in a dining-for-dollars fundraiser. Informative Round-Table On Paid Family & Medical Leave & The New Laws

HR Kinections is hosting a small business round-table to share additional information and address your questions regarding the new laws surrounding paid family and medical leave in Washington state.Washington will be the fifth state in the nation to offer paid family and medical leave benefits to workers. The program will be funded by premiums paid by both employees and many employers.
As directed by the Legislature, premium assessment begins on Jan. 1, 2019 and benefits can be taken starting Jan. 1, 2020. This means that if you have one employee, regardless of how often they work, you as the employer, most likely, must comply with the ESD's premium withholding, remittance, and reporting requirements.
