Flu Vaccine: Should you and your child get one?
The CDC recommends you get the flu (influenza) vaccine every year and as soon as it becomes available. It is important to receive the vaccine every year, the immunity provided by the vaccine declines over time. Getting vaccinated is the most effective way to protect yourself and your family from getting influenza. Influenza is a serious respiratory infection that hospitalizes and kills many year. The elderly and young children are the most vulnerable. Most healthcare providers recommend the flu vaccine for everyone over the age of 6 months.

Highlighting the Staff of
Katie's Kids

Hello!
My name is McKenzie Foley, and I just started with Katie's Kids about 3 weeks ago. I already love it here! I am a sophomore at Illinois State University, and I plan on becoming a Speech-Language Pathologist. I'm pretty busy this
year, but in my free time I like to hangout with my friends and family!  I also love playing sports, and I am on the Women's Club Volleyball Team at ISU. I'm happy to share a little bit about myself with you guys, and I hope to work at Katie's Kids for a long time!
It has such a great atmosphere!

Lending Library

We would like your family to take a minute and notice our new lending library.  The library includes books for both adults and children.  Some books will include a book buddy. If your child picks a book buddy friend, we have fun directions to follow in order for us to enjoy your adventures too.  Please feel free to share your experience with other friends or simply just read the book & snuggle with the book buddy.

If your family has a book and book buddy friend your willing to donate, please follow up with Andrea.
Exposure to Lead

Every year the Illinois Department of Public Health would like us to remind families about the risk involved when exposed to lead and the lasting effects it may cause.
