Bear Creek Middle School's 9/11 program has been named the 2018 Georgia Council of Social Studies (GCSS) Program of Excellence. David Kendrick, 8th grade Social Studies teacher at BCMS is the driving force of this project with a contagious passion. President of the Georgia Council of the Social Studies, he has received numerous awards related to his work.
Eddie Bennett, Executive Director of the Georgia Council for Social Studies had this to say "David, Congratulations on Bear Creek Middle School 9/11 Program being named the 2018 GCSS Program of Excellence. As I mentioned to you earlier, I was very happy to attend the flag ceremony and the placing of the Twin Towers artifact in Bear Creek Middle School. I also was impressed by the wide range of people who took time to attend the ceremony. The students were outstanding and it was obvious that they knew and understood about 9/11."
