- Slumber party attire
- Cash for raffle tickets and drinks
- Checkbook for payment of auction items you purchase. Unfortunately, we are not equipped to accept credit cards.
- Appetizer or dessert, if you agreed to bring food
- Auction Catalog (PDF) with notes on which live auction items you want to bid on. It helps to bring your calendar, too. Couples should plan to talk with each other before bidding on items so that you are in alignment about items and budgets.

special service of remembrance and healing this
Saturday at Congregation Lev Shalom, 10:00am. This service of healing and reflection is in response to
last Saturday's tragic shooting and gun violence at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pennsylvania. I have
been asked to be a guest speaker, and I encourage our Beacon members and friends to please come in a
show of support for our Jewish friends and neighbors. Let us together be strong in our resolve that we
will resist voices of separation and actions of hate. Let us together gather to proclaim unity in diversity,
to speak to our values of inclusivity and the worth and dignity of all.
Please note that Congregation Lev Shalom is not a large meeting space, similar to us, I invite you to arrive early for indoor seating. It is expected to have a strong turnout of support and numbers of attendees, this may mean standing room only, and perhaps overflow crowds to hold vigil outside and around their building. Please check the weather and plan accordingly.

~ Fall Chalice Circles ~
Touchstones Chalice Circles are designed to meet our needs for belonging (intimacy) and meaning (ultimacy) by building friendships and providing opportunities to ponder life's questions, small and large, with others who share the common values of our UU Principles. The Chalice Circle experience enriches our community as we speak from the heart and listen deeply to one another in a safe and sacred environment of acceptance and caring. There is still space in both Sunday and Tuesday meeting groups!

In this mid-term election of great consequence, here are deadlines for submitting Early Voting ballots: The Oct. 31 mail-in deadline has passed. However, you may hand-deliver your Early Voting Ballot through Election Day, Tues., November 6, in these locations (regardless of your precinct):
Thank you, Beacon people, for your generous donations to support undocumented immigrants just released by ICE or Border Patrol for their bus rides to be with family in other parts of the U.S. Dorothy Rissel and Roseanne Fulcher delivered the much-needed travel supplies to Somos America (We Are America) who will sort and distribute them to travelers at the Phoenix bus depot.
Rev. Kevin, Dorothy, Roseanne, Rich, and I participated in the rich programming at the UUJAZ (UU Justice Arizona) Network Issues and Action Day at the Surprise UU Church Saturday, November 27. Kevin joined a clergy team as a presenter as well as song leader in the brief worship service that set the "Courage and Renewal" tone for the day. We all agreed that it would be enlightening (and fun!) to engage a charismatic guy named Rowdy--and he was!--to challenge our Flagstaff faith communities on issues surrounding racial justice. So, stay tuned...
The next SJA meeting will be Sunday, Nov. 18, following the service (about 11:15). Beacon members, friends and visitors are welcome!

~ Religious Exploration ~
On Sunday we will continue working with the curriculum called
Circle of Trees.
This workshop briefly addresses the peril of global climate change with a focus on the progress that can be made when each of us takes action. Participants view a visual essay by Canadian activist Franke James and create one of their own.

look at these 5 Ds of appreciative inquiry and tell me what you love about Beacon? This will help me plan and bring more of what resonates with you and your family. Also I would love to hear about your dreams for the spiritual development of your children. Tell me what you wish for. This will also help me plan and bring more of what makes you excited.

- November 13, 6:30 pm-8:00 pm Coming of Age program for 12-15 year olds! We are so excited to offer this wonderful year-long opportunity to our middle school youth! Also, as an optional addition to the program, NAU Film Series this semester is focusing on Youth in Cinema: Coming of Age. Join us if you would like! Read this article in the Daily Sun for details.
- November 18, after service 11:30 am - 1:30 pm High School Youth Group meeting. Let's get really real about what you want in youth group! Come for conversation and planning, lunch food items, and social time.

~ Community Action Committee ~
Founded in 1911 by Dr. Henry Poore, the Poore Free Medical Clinic offers free medical and dental care to low income, uninsured individuals and families living in Coconino County. The majority of patients are the working poor who qualify because they live at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level.
Attending to patient's medical and dental needs enables them to better their lives. The clinic earned the title of Flagstaff Organization of the Year in 2013. Services offered are Primary Care, Chronic Illness Care, Acute Illness Care, Children's Health, Sports Physicals, and Dental Care. Dental services offered include full dental exam with x-rays, filling cavities, simple dental extractions, and dental cleanings by a hygienist.
