Protecting nature for future generations
Happy 25th Anniversary!
From all of us at The Couchiching Conservancy, the Board of Directors and more...we would like to share this celebration and accomplishment with YOU! It has been 25 years since a small group of people sat around a kitchen table discussing the environmental challenges in their communities.

Since then, people like you have stepped up to help protect nature and power the local conservation movement. And who benefits? Future generations of course, but also the hundreds of species in the region who rely on a healthy habitat, people who visit these wild lands and more.

Again, THANK YOU and happy anniversary!
To celebrate 25 years of land conservation, The Couchiching Conservancy is presenting "Legacy Landscapes" , an art exhibition highlighting the natural beauty of the Conservancy's unique properties.

Professional artists have been invited to create original artworks to celebrate these remarkable landscapes. Their insights form a dynamic exhibition of landscape interpretation.

Art exhibit opening:
Saturday, November 10th from 1pm - 4pm
At the Orillia Museum of Art & History (30 Peter St. South, Orillia, Ontario L3V 5A9)

The artworks will be available for sale, and a catalogue of the pieces will be available before our Annual General Meeting in March 2019. The show runs until March 24, 2019.

Wolves, Skinks and Carnivorous Plants:
November 14th, 7 pm at the Carden Recreation Centre
This is the presentation we have all been waiting for!

Phil Careless , Park Biologist with Ontario Parks, was to be the guest speaker at our Annual General Meeting last February. The airport, however, had other plans.

Finally he will be able to tell us what the heck he is doing in this photo...and how he finally manage to get out of the airport.

Phil will be speaking about Q.E. II and about the Ron Reid Nature Reserve, which are both at the heart of one of southern Canada’s most powerful biological engines. From the comfort of our seats we shall climb rock barrens and slog through fens in pursuit of the plants and animals in our last great southern wilderness. This event is in partnership with the Carden Field Naturalists Club. A $2 contribution at the door helps the Club cover rental of the Carden Rec Centre.
