Our joy is tempered by the horrific murders of synagogue-goers and wounding of police officers at Tree of Life Congregation in Pittsburgh last
Shabes. May the memories of those who died be a blessing.
As a meditation and memorial for the victims of the massacre, friend of KlezCalifornia Leonard Rosenberg created a
slideshow, with images of his wife Sandy's
Tree of Life painting and her
Book of Life graphic designs, with musical accompaniment excerpted from "Taxim" by violinist Jacob Gegna (Columbia Gramophone Co. 1921).

Chasing the Changes, a Klezmer Workshop
with Jeanette Lewicki
Presented by KlezCalifornia
Sunday, November 11, 3:30-6:30pm
Kehilla Community Congregation, Piedmont
We will be playing by ear, listening to tunes and trying to catch the chord changes. We will survey some klezmer forms and rhythm patterns, analyze some written music, and you will go home with some sheet music as well.
If you'd like to break free from little dots on a page...if you're not sure how to jump in and out of the tune...if you want to keep up with the changes...this may be the class for you

Alicia Jo Rabin,
