WVFHC: Sport for Life Project    WVFHC

Over the course of the 2018 Junior League Spring Season, the West Vancouver Field Hockey Club undertook a major project to promote "Sport for Life".

The purpose of this project is to encourage young athletes to take a multi-sport "active for life" approach to physical activity through a variety of communication methods. WVFHC will be using the findings from this project to continuously promote this message in their Spring League and other programs.

At Field Hockey BC, we strongly support this initiative and encourage others to learn more about the WVFHC Sport for Life Project.

Junior Men's National Team: 2018 Youth Olympic Games  JMNT

Field Hockey Canada sent a squad of nine athletes, including six from BC, to the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Although the Canadian team did not achieve the results they had hoped for on the pitch, the overall experience was unforgettable for these young athletes.

Team Canada finished in 10th place at the Hockey 5's competition, with one win and five losses. Tsawwassen native, Rowan Childs, was the Team Captain and tied as Canada's scoring leader with four goals in the tournament.

Visit the Field Hockey Canada website for a full tournament recap.
